Bread is Best

Today is Tuesday 6.jul.21 Day 8 of PPN phase 1. Going out to buy takeaway food from our regular stalls in coffee shops to give local support.

*** Sun 4.jul.21 Front Room and the Kneady Baker ***

Read all about bread at PH and TM so bought some bread and scones on Sunday from the Front Room and the Kneady Baker eatery since we are already in Taman Desa. I have bought a few slices of cake from them back in 2017.

10.20 am - Freshly baked Sourdough bread with warm crunchy skin and soft sticky dense insides. It is like eating crunchy siew yuk skin with sourish pak tong ko. Very enjoyable taste. As this sourdough loaf is freshly baked, it wasn't wrapped but placed on a piece of paper into a paper bag.

WhatsApp Pete and place the order. Pay by bank transfer and Pete will bring the order to you during pick up. No need to go into the shop.

Packaging. The bread wrapped in white paper is the Jalapeno Cheese Loaf.

The Jalapeno Cheese Loaf is crumbly with cheese rolled in with green mixed herbs and jalapeno. A little bit hot spicy and medium salty but the egg wash taste is very strong.

The 6 grain bread is very hard outside and dry inside, good for munching.  Lots of black sesame seeds and very compact.

Cranberry Raisin Scone and Chocolate Orange Scone. Dense and milky, slightly sweet with bicarbonate taste. We prefer the chocolate orange scone.

Bottom of sourdough loaf.

Top of sourdough loaf.

Saw this on fb. Wanted to buy from them but they don't deliver to my place. Maybe one day when cross borders are allowed then I can order and go pick up the order.

  1. This prolong lockdown has definately affected alot of businesses. My neighbour who operates a seafood restaurant has closed down the shop and moved elsewhere to run a smaller eatery. The other neighbour works a few jobs to support his family.
