Basmathi Brown Rice


Lightly rinse 2 cups of 160 ml basmathi brown rice. Add 2 cups of 160 ml water and cover the casserole pot. Microwaved for 6 minutes on full power. Let it rest for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, remove the cover of the casserole pot and voila! Light fluffy basmathi brown rice is cooked perfectly.

The brown basmathi rice is light and fluffy but with more fibres. It has a nutty earthy taste so there may be people who are not used to this taste. I like it for its taste and also because it is so easy to cook.

This is the packet of basmathi brown rice.

*** Day 4 of 4 Days Food ***

Sat 22.may.21 11.30 am - brunch of Mee hoon in ytf soup with one okra ytf and one tofu ytf shared by two pax.

2 pm - basmathi brown rice with a spoonful of items from the 8 treasures duck stew. Ate all the remaining 4 pieces of otak otak bought on wed 19.may.21 which is 4 days ago.


2.30 pm - kept this remaining 8 treasures duck stew in the fridge for dinner.

6 pm - scoop basmathi brown rice into the reheated remaining duck stew. The two of us shared this bowl of rice for dinner and finished off all the 8 treasure duck.

Therefore, on day 4 we finally ate all the remaining 8 treasure duck and otak otak. 2 items cleared. Yay!'🥳 still have sour mustard greens dish and mui choy pork belly to clear tomorrow.
