Mun Kee n Sing Yeh

On Monday 18.jul.22, went to two eateries that we have never been to before, to buy food.

*** Mun Kee Food Court ***

This Mun Kee Food Court is known as Mun Kee Seafood Restaurant (Food Court) but is a big fully covered shed located in Happy Garden. The original Volcano Curry Mee stall is located in this Mun Kee Food Court. One day I will try it.

Pan Mee soup with hand torn pan Mee pieces MYR 8. It is as tasty as our favourite pan Mee from Swee Hing coffee shop. The pieces of pan Mee are thicker so I like this pan Mee a little more.

This Petai Ckt and yellow noodles with prawns and cockles MYR 11 is not that oily so I like it.

This is the stall that sells petai ckt.

There are many stalls in this Food Court. We will be back to try them. For dinner, we ordered salmon don from an eatery in Sri Petaling via shopeefood.

*** Sing Yeh Noodle House ***

Please click on the above menu for a larger image. This Sing Yeh Noodle House is also a shed by the road side. It is located opposite Mun Kee Food Court.

Tuesday 19.jul.22 8.18 am - the pork mihun soup MYR 7.50 nett from Sing Yeh Noodle House for breakfast. So now, apart from Swee Hing, we have another place to buy pork mihun soup.

Kagoshima Kurobuta

On Saturday 11.jun.22, went out to buy food despite the drizzle.

Went to Choy Kei coffee shop and bought:
1. Hot hainan drink MYR 3.3
2. 1 kway teow 3jc and 2 mihun 3jc MYR 22.50 price increased from MYR 6.50 to MYR 7.50 nett. One pack of mihun 3jc is for the Elderlies.
3. 4 egg tarts, 1 siew Bao, 1 kaya puff MYR 2.3 x 6 eq MYR 13.80 nett

Walked to Mr Farmer Grocer a few doors away to buy vege to cook with the remaining bkt bought yesterday.

10.26 am - Wanted to buy Wawa vegetables but it was sold out so bought the above little gem lettuce instead. Thought it was MYR 9.50 per pack. My mistake. MYR 9.50 is per kg so this small pack of small Romaine lettuce costs MYR 2.30 nett.

Saw this frozen Kagoshima Kurobuta pork meat being sold by mammy grocer. Online search says:

"Kurobuta – which means black pig in Japanese – is better known as Berkshire pork in the English-speaking world. The juicy pork comes from the same type of pig; an old English breed, distinctively black, with white feet and snout."

"Kurobuta pigs fed on these sweet potatoes gain the distinctive clean-flavored fatty meat so beloved by fans. Kagoshima's warm and pleasant weather is also essential to raising kurobuta piglets. Thanks to this combination of factors, kurobuta has become a brand name for pork unique to Kagoshima."

"Kurobuta (aka Berkshire) Pork is a heritage breed prized for its luxurious marbling, making it much more flavorful, tender, and moist compared to conventional pork."

After reading the above search results, maybe we will buy some frozen Kagoshima Kurobuta pork meat when he wants to cook some pork dishes to try out.

Then went to Swee Hing coffee shop and bought:
1. Pork yimi soup MYR 8
2. Hand torn pan Mee soup MYR 8

Wanted to buy ckt for the Elderlies but the stall is off for this day so I walked to BC&S coffee shop at the far corner and bought petai ckt mixed yellow noodles MYR 11 nett.

10.48 am - this is the petai ckt stall at BC&S coffee shop.

*** Sweet & Savoury Dumplings ***

Saw a bak Chang make shift stall by the roadside opposite Choy Kei coffee shop so went to buy some bak changs.

1 pm - savoury bak Chang MYR 7.50 nett. Tied with non plastic strings.

The glutinous rice in this bak Chang is very soft until all the rice bits are fused together.

For MYR 7.50 nett, it has mung beans, chest nut, lean pork, fatty pork aka the white piece of lard in the photo above, mushrooms, salted egg yolk and dried tiny shrimps aka har mi. Bulk discount of 50 cents - buy 3 at MYR 22 so we bought 3 and gave 1 to the Elderlies.

1.24 pm - sweet Kee Chang with red bean fillings at MYR 2.50 for 1 but MYR 9 for 4 with some bulk buy discounts so bought 4 and gave 2 to the Elderlies.

This Kee Chang is very dense.

Red bean fillings.

Grab your Hotdeals

On Friday 4.feb.22, kid 1 is back to resume duty to provide lunch and dinner for the Elderlies so we just stayed home and ordered two food deliveries. I have been lax in getting good deals for food deliveries. Luckily from reading PH's articles, I am reminded that Grab is providing hotdeals up to a max of MYR 12.50 off for a purchase of MYR 25 for selected eateries. The end date is mid Feb 2022 and there is a limited of 6 times usage within the offer duration.

*** Mama Cooking Eatery Kuchai ***

10.08 am - petai char kway teow with petai, wax sausages, prawns and cockles. Tasty but a bit too spicy for us. He ate only a few mouthfuls because it was too spicy for him. I ate the remaining portion.

5.40 pm - nyonya basil minced pork rice. He ate this rice for dinner with the hot sour mustard leaves dish from Good Taste bought yesterday. He cooked napa cabbage with siew yuk from Good Taste bought yesterday and ate a bowl of it.

7.43 pm - I ate a bowl of napa cabbages. So delicious with natural sweet taste.

9.53 am - two meals for MYR 16.50 only inclusive of delivery fees because of the hotdeals promo code providing MYR 12.50 off. What a good deal!

*** Pak Ali eatery Kuchai Lama ***

11.26 am - ordered drinks this round. The beef rendang tomato rice tastes good. The beef could be softer though. The 3 drinks are nscf, teh Tarik and coffee Tarik.

Used the hotdeals to get MYR 12.50 off. The coffee Tarik MYR 3.90 is hidden under the more details segment. There are 4 more hotdeals promo code. Will I be able use all of them before they expire?

Petai Bihun Uncle Soon Kitchen

Tuesday 28.sep.2021 is one early day. Started to carry things from 7.30 am onwards. Started early because at 12 noon, he needs to deliver lunch to the elderlies and to check in on them so we only have half day.

*** Saturday 4.sep.21 ***

Sat 4.sep.21 1 pm - I like this petai Bihun because it has a homely taste. Wish it has more petai in it.

Sat 4.sep.21 12.54 noon - Kai see hor fun. More hor fun than I expected. Taste light which I like.

Ordered both meals from Uncle Soon's Kitchen which I have no idea where it is located.

Sat 4.sep.21 1.16 pm - our soy desserts from Bean Jr Sri Petaling.

These two choices are the ones with the ingredients that we like, mainly the ginkgo and taro.

Sun 5.sep.21 1.36 pm - nasi lemak chicken rendang from Ho Family Kitchen. Taste acceptable.

Bought siew Bao at MYR 1.90 nett each and egg tarts at MYR 2.30 nett each from the same eatery.

Sun 5.sep.21 8.48 am - This is operated by the Chee Cheong Fun stall and it includes the wanton noodles stall and drinks from the coffee shop.

Crispy Chicken Rendang

12.13 noon - ordered Mamalee's nasi lemak again with free delivery. Crispy chicken whole leg with rendang gravy in a plastic bag. MYR 14 nett. Chicken tastes fresh.

The main dish includes a free drink which is Wonda coffee. We didn't know that it includes a free drink because there was no mention in the ordering website and no selection available but for the previous day's order, we received a can of this exact Wonda Zero Max milk coffee.

Fried rice with petai. The rice is a bit spicy. It has two prawns and some fried anchovies. I ate a bit of this fried rice and keep the remaining rice in the fridge for the next day.

*** Food Panda Lunch Box on Wed 23 Dec 2020 d281 ***

Last week on Wed at 2 pm - received this Food Panda Lunch Box which a slip of my finger bought. There is supposed to be 30% off for MYR 35 and above but I didn't reach that amount and was going to select more items when I pressed order so I paid the full price. What a mistake!

Looks good but can taste the frozen chicken taste according to he who ate the chicken. MYR 17.90 nett which is much higher price than Mamalee's nasi lemak which is tastier.

I ordered spicy cauliflower and potato bites for MYR 6.50 nett and received these 5 deep fried snacks. No idea what they are because they certainly don't look like cauliflower.

Cross section. The fillings taste like curried dhall. Quite tasty.

Must read properly before pressing any button because there is no pop up box for reconfirmation of order. So paid full price because didn't order up to MYR 35 to get 30% off. Free delivery though.

*** Tuesday 29 Dec 2020 d287 ***

11.06 am - 4 pieces of Kuih lapis remaining in the fridge since 1 Nov 2020 (Sunday). Aim to eat all of them before 2021 is here.

11.07 am - I ate the final piece of Kuih lapis spekoek. Very buttery. After eating it, I could still taste and smell the butter around my mouth.

6 pm - not my dinner of wantonmi char siew wanton from Sepetang coffee shop at MYR 6.50 nett bought on Sunday 27 Dec 2020.

6.10 pm - bought a pack of two chocolate muffins from RT pastry on Friday 25 Dec 2020 but didn't take note of the price.

Quite tall from the side view.

Top view. Choc chips and walnuts. Tasty.

6.30 pm - ice cream pac wo/man strikes and gobbles up all the strawberry nestle ice cream. Will finish all the chocolate nestle ice cream the next day.
