Ah B Kopitiam delivery

Tuesday 30.nov.2021 is his day to provide lunch so he went over with some lettuce vegetables and the gravy chicken from the previous day and cooked lunch for the Elderlies. As expected, the elderlies like the taste of the chicken gravy very much so we can order food for them from Lan Chey Eatery next time.

6.19 pm - Loh Mee with Mee mix with mihun for our shared lunch. Taste ok, not salty.

3.03 pm - his late lunch after cooking lunch for the Elderlies. Mushroom ccf. The stall gave a big bag of gravy which we thought is a bag of soup. I wonder why they gave so much gravy which we have to pour away, what a waste. Taste ok, not salty.

Wed 1.dec.21 7.50 am mihun pork soup bought on tue for wed breakfast. He added an egg to it, taste is acceptable.

Wed 1.dec.21 12.38 noon - shared this 3 stew combo with rice bought on tue for lunch. This is the best dish of the 4 dishes we bought from this eatery. He blanched the lettuce to go with the rice and stew. 3 stew combo has meat, egg and tofu. This dish can be ordered for the elderlies lunch next time.

The above 4 meals are bought from this Ah B Kopitiam in Taman Petaling Utama near Taman Sri Manja. Now we use Shopeefood to buy food delivery whenever possible because of the many discounts and points redeemable. 4 dishes including delivery fees Costs MYR 22.33 nett which is a good price.

9.18 am - he wanted to cook lunch for the Elderlies so I bought some lettuce using Pandamart  for him. Price is ok after using the pandamart40 promo code to get MYR 8 nett off.

They sent me this peeled garlic 200 g instead of baby romaine lettuce MYR 2.90 nett. I think maybe the baby romaine lettuce is out of stock so they just randomly replace it with peeled garlic. Will need to give the peeled garlic to people who cook their meals since we don't cook our food. I didn't raise a report to pandamart as they gave a random replacement for items out of stock.

2.35 pm - I ate these two quite big siew Bao bought from Lai Foong coffee shop on Thursday, 5 days ago for my lunch as he refused to eat them after he ate one because he says there is a weird taste.

2.36 pm - the pastry crust is thick and crunchy so it is acceptable. The fillings - the meat are a bit hard. One of them has the taste of french beans so it seems quite weird but I ate both siew baos as the french beans taste is tolerable to me. Will take note not to buy these siew Bao again.

Lan Chey Eatery Delivery

Monday 29.nov.21 is kid 1's day but fav kid living in overseas used kl app to order food prawn noodles for the Elderlies' breakfast. Update: the neighbour gave the prawn noodles but fav kid does order food delivery from overseas using those apps that support this function. We just ordered our own food.

11.33 am - he ordered these dishes from Lan Chey eatery in Taman Tan Yew Lai using shopeefood. The dishes are acceptable but I didn't expect the steamed chicken dish to have so much gravy.

For people with lots of shopee coins and don't know what to use them on, can use them for food delivery via shopeefood. After applying all discounts and redeeming shopee coins, the total price is MYR 21.05 nett only.

*** Lai Foong Lala Noodles eatery at Jalan Sultan ***

I did not know that there is a new Lai Foong Lala Noodles eatery located  near Central Market that opened for business around Aug 2020 until I ordered delivery from them. Then I read an online article about them:

The address is:
99, Jalan Sultan, City Centre, 50000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

The url to order online:

12.09 noon - sang mien noodles with 2 prawns without gravy.

12.10 noon - with gravy. Yummylicious! 😋😋😋

Tue 30.nov.21 6.52 am - very early breakfast of prawn mihun bought the previous day. Yummylicious again! 😋😋😋

11.11 am - the price is reasonable for two big prawns. Prawn mihun MYR 20 nett and prawn sang mien MYR 22 nett.

*** Dinner ***

6.07 pm - I ate one curry puff, one vadai and one kuih bakul, all from Saturday, 2 days ago.

6.25 pm - shared this char siew wanton noodles from Sunday bought from Alison coffee shop Sri petaling. Taste is ok but the pickled green chilis are sweet, not sour and not spicy so I don't like them because I prefer appetising sour pickled green chilis.

Sunday Meals

Sunday 28.nov.21 is his day again to supply both lunch and dinner.

3.50 pm - food from the previous day's tea set. I have to eat all the kuih because they cannot be stored for more than one day. The curry puffs can be kept for another 2 days.

10.44 am - nasi lemak bungkus from the previous day tea set as my brunch.

10.07 am - he said the beef rendang tastes like butter so he doesn't want to eat it so I ate them for brunch. From the previous day's tea set too.

9.09 am - my portion of yee Mee bought on Friday from Swee Heng that he kept for my breakfast.

11.18 am - he bought wanton Mee from Alison coffee shop, Sri Petaling for the Elderlies. One pack is for him. With all the discount available on shopeefood, 3 packs of wanton Mee inclusive of delivery fees Costs MYR 16.50 nett only.

5.10 pm - ordered one pack of rice set for the Elderlies because they can't eat that much rice since there are also a vegetable dish and soup. We went to pickup the food so jomtapau promo code can be used to get MYR 5 nett off. Then we discovered that Yan's Kitchen is located in the same shop lot as 1977 Chicken Rice Shop. Not sure if both entities belong to the same owner or not.

Fri 26.nov.21 6.39 pm - I bought one yam paste pastry from Lai Foong coffee shop on Thursday and ate it on Friday. I don't know how much this pastry costs.

The meat fillings are on the sweet side like sweet char siew. Can taste yam paste in the pastry crust skin.

*** Sat 27.nov.21 ***

10.40 am - lunch delivery direct to the elderlies' house. Only 3 items are for them: hot pepper noodles, petai ckt and two pieces of kuih bakul. The rest are ours.

1.24 pm - pre ordered just one meal for both elderlies' dinner to be delivered at 5.30 pm. One elderly chose this salmon teriyaki rice bowl from Brew House. Luckily this Pandastars evoucher is available to give a huge discount of MYR 12.50 nett off.

2.24 pm - the 6 pink roses are soap roses. I think can use them as soap to wash hands.

5.54 pm - lobby of pavilion hotel.

4.10 pm - food for 4 pax.

Buy 1 free 1 at MYR 59 promo so 1 set is for 2 pax so 2 sets are for 4 pax.

4.10 pm - the bowl on the left bottom corner contains beef rendang and pulut lemang. Now to wait 21 days. 😅

Tiny pendant.

Spotted CNY Goodies

Friday 26.nov.21 is kid 1's day but we still have to go buy bread and deliver it to the elderly because the elderly says that the previous time kid 1 bought bread, there was difficulty in double parking and jumping down with the car unattended just to pop into the shop to buy just a loaf of bread so we have to make a special trip on not his day to buy and deliver one loaf of bread to the elderly. Since we are out, we also bought food for the whole day and breakfast the next day.

At the grocery shop, while selecting bread placed outside the shop, I heard coughing so I peered into the shop and saw a customer at the cashier counter paying for a tray of eggs and coughing hard with the mask pulled down exposing the mouth and nose. 🤦🏻‍♀️I suspect the mask was pulled down because the mask has to be used for the whole day to save on masks. Talking about not being clear of the concept.

The customer was coughing with the mask pulled down exposing the mouth and nose so I hope it is just a common cold as the nose looks obviously red and not the dreaded virus. I contemplated abandoning my buying bread but then thought better of it and waited till the coughing customer has exited the shop, held my breath, quickly paid at the counter next to the counter where the coughing happened and ran out. Hopefully the aerosol droplets didn't get me. I wore double masks but left my face shield at home. Now to wait 21 days.

9.12 am - These are the cny Goodies being sold by Swee Heng coffee shop. I guess CNY is near! Are you looking forward to CNY?

10.25 am - duck egg ckt from swee Heng at MYR 8.50 nett. The gao choy aka chives are hinting to us not to eat so much ckt. Can you spot the hint?

The food we bought on this trip out:

1. Hakka zhar yuk muk yee rice from Lucky Alley MYR 7 nett.
2. Gardenia Wholemeal bread one loaf from kk mart MYR 3.30 nett.
3. Pork trotters wanton Mee dry from BC&S coffee shop MYR 8.50 nett.

Food from Swee Heng:
4. Rojak MYR 7 nett.
5. Pork yee Mee MYR 7 nett.
6. Ling Fish Mee Hoon without milk MYR 13 nett.
7. One pack of two green pandan angku kuih MYR 2.30 nett.
8. Hot hainan tea coffee MYR 2.90 nett.
9. Duck ckt MYR 8.50 nett.

Kedai Kopi Lai Foong

Thursday 25.nov.21 is his day to provide lunch. As he is the driver for the Elderlies, he had to send one elderly to the association prayers at a temple in downtown kl and then wait there for the elderly to attend the association meeting before bringing the elderly home as the children do not allow the elderly to drive even though the elderly insists can drive and wants to drive.

The elderly is not allowed to join the association lunch after the meeting so it is agreed that the elderly will leave the meeting early before it ends. So the mission is to drop the Elderly at the temple at 10.45 am and to pick up at the drop off point at 11.45 am.

The stay at home elderly wanted to eat the famous beef noodles from Lai Foong eatery in downtown kl so I volunteer to go buy takeaway while he jaga kereta aka sit in the car to wait. Since I was there, I went to buy my food too.

Then after dropping the elderly home with lunch, we then went to exchange 3 cans of black hair spray for a hair tonic because the children don't allow the elderly to spray the skin of the head black anymore for fear of any carcinogenic consequences. What a day full of errands. I wore double masks and a face shield and followed SOP fully and prayed for safe passage.

1.18 pm - our shared lunch of beef Lai fun from Lai Foong coffee shop. Beef meatballs, tendon, lean beef, omasum, tripe in very flavour beefy broth and a refreshingly spicy chili dip. 3 packets of beef noodles and 1 packet of beef meatballs cost MYR 61 nett.

1.46 pm - close up of the omasum. From online definition of omasum is the muscular third stomach of a ruminant animal, between the reticulum and the abomasum.

7.03 pm - our shared dinner of lala mihun in wine ginger broth. The broth is very flavourful, full of wine and Ginger with tiny pieces of red chili to spice it up. He fried two eggs and added them to the mihun. I prefer the fried eggs to the lala.

*** Food from Lai Foong coffee shop for my friend ***

1.05 pm - photos from my friends after I dropped of 1 pack of prawns wine mihun and 3 packs of wanton Mee to them.

The prawns and lala mihun are from one stall and cost MYR 32 nett. The 3 packs of wanton noodles are from Lai Foong coffee shop extension shop which is the shop lot next to Lai Foong. There is no adjoining door between these two shop lots.

1.05 pm - broad and wide wanton noodles with char siew and two wantons; and with beef stew. My friends say all 4 packs are very tasty but the wine broth is a bit too salty for them.

11.05 am - Lai Foong coffee shop looking out to the main entrance.

11.01 am - Lai Foong coffee shop looking into the shop from the main entrance. It is good to see that this coffee shop is still in business.

This is the address:
138, Jalan Tun H S Lee, City Centre, 50050 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.

11.13 am - after collecting all the food I ordered and placed them in the car, I then walked to buy my food. I can see the two buildings that I worked in for about a total of 7.5 years from here. Ah, the memories of yonder years. Crossed the road ahead and continued walking.

11.15 am - can still see the two buildings. Turned right at this traffic light.

11.15 am - walk on straight until the first lane on the right.

11.15 am - can see the lane on the right now.

11.15 am - this is the lane. Can you see the portable stall right at the end of this lane?

11.17 am - this is the stall with the old lady selling the best kaya roll that I mentioned here in 2014: Good to see she is still around.

So I bought two kaya rolls at MYR 19 nett each and 3 kaya puffs, 2 egg tarts at MYR 2 nett each so the total is MYR 48 nett. Then I walk into the lane and turned left.

11.16 am - turned left to see this eatery.

11.20 am - this eatery is famous for sang har Mee aka big river prawn noodles and ngao hor aka stir fry beef spring onions ginger hor fun.

Good to see this eatery as the last time I ate sang har noodles here is on the day of my rom on 22.4.1999 which is 22 years ago.

The name of the eatery is Sang Kee, dai su tao sang har mean aka big tree fresh water prawn Mee.

The address is:
5A, Jalan Yap Ah Loy, City Centre, 50050 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

A very good review of this eatery with lots of photos is here:
