Tasty Fruit Shaved Ice Dessert

On Saturday 1.jul.2023, parked at Pinnacle condo basement car park for 1st 2 hours foc and ate brunch at Nam Heong eatery which is now using their main menu and not the promotion menus that we chose from during our previous visits. 

That was my omad so I didn't eat any food when I accompanied him to eat his early dinner at December bkt eatery. He bought takeaway dinner from that bkt eatery for the Elderlies too. For the Elderlies' lunch, he walked to Fatty Mixed Rice from the pinnacle condo and bought chapfan lunch for them.

*** Nam Heong Pinnacle condo ***

11.34 am - Nam Heong Signature Mixed Fruit Ice MYR 10.90+ 10% = MYR 11.99 nett. I like the taste of the fruits with the rose syrup in the ice. Will order this ice dessert again.

11.22 am - he ordered nasi ganja MYR 19.90+ and it has a piece of chicken and chicken offal curry which is the unique curry in this dish. I ordered the crispy prawn rolls 3 pieces by default for MYR 7.90+ and 2 egg tarts at MYR 3.50+ each. 

He said the pastry of the egg tart tastes different now, with some sort of fragrant butter essence so he only ate half of the egg tart and I ate 1.5 egg tarts to finish them off. The crispy prawn rolls have very, very, very crispy beancurd sheets rolled up with fillings.

11.30 am - I also ordered this ipoh caramel egg custard MYR 6.90+ which has a very fragrant caramel syrup. Can taste vanilla for the egg custard. 👍

11.34 am - both of us shared this glass of cham cold less sweet MYR 5.90+ which is refreshing. This less sweet cham drink tastes better than the cham with the original amount of sugar.

1.05 pm - total price for his lunch and my omad is MYR 64.35 nett. Then we went to Guardian Pharmacy Pinnacle condo to buy a bottle of 900 ml moisture fresh floral bloom shokubutsu body wash MYR 17.51 nett offer price, JF Sulfur Soap MYR 8.53 nett and 4in1 pack 100g Dettol original soap MYR 11 nett as per the Elderlies' request. Also bought avocado, eggs and blueberries from the supermarket in pinnacle condo.

*** December BKT Sri Petaling ***

I just sat next to him and watched him eat his early dinner of bkt as I had my omad during brunch so I didn't eat any food at all during his early dinner. 😊

4.27 pm - he chose 1 pax bkt soup MYR 15.80 nett and chose 3 ingredients - ribs, cartilage aka soft ribs and intestines.

4.29 pm - he also chose one pax bowl of Klang bkt with leg meat in bkt soup MYR 15.80 nett.

4.29 pm - he added a bowl of pepper stomach soup MYR 14.80 nett with lots of stomach slices in it.

4.31 pm - he also ordered glass lettuce Vegetables MYR 8 nett.

5.56 pm - for the Elderlies' dinner, he bought a portion of yutiao MYR 2 nett and a bowl of rice MYR 1.80 nett for a big portion because they didn't ask and just default it to a big portion so he kept some rice in our fridge as the Elderlies cannot eat a big portion of rice since they are eating less rice. Therefore, the total price for bkt dinner for the Elderlies and him is MYR 58.20 nett.

MyKori MyTown

On Thursday 17.nov.2022, went to 126 Kopitiam to buy chapfan lunch for the Elderlies and then went to park at MyTown to take mrt one stop to do some errands.

5.26 pm - Kenko Kakigori takeaway from MyKori MyTown. I selected strawberry and peach as the fruits toppings but peach is not available so I chose mangoes instead. For 3 grains toppings category, I chose pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and whole roasted almonds.

For the ice, I chose mixberry yogurt ice instead of milk ice, Matcha yogurt ice. Tasty!

1.24 pm - MyKori eatery at MyTown Mall. I was buying burgers from myburgerlab when I notice this pretty ice dessert shop opposite myburgerlab.

1.38 pm - nice cosy seats.

Kenko Kakigori total takeaway price is MYR 19.50 nett.

4.30 pm - I ate my salad bought from Salad Atelier yesterday:

1. Smoked duck slices

2. Kale

3. Beetroot

4. Pumpkin

5. Edamame

6. Yellow red green capsicum

8. No dressings.

12.10 noon - his lunch at Go Noodle MyTown.

Go noodle barramundi fish instead of grouper fish.

3.45 pm - bought takeaway two burgers ala carte from myburgerlab. Ate a bit and kept a lot for another day.

MYR 40.80 for two burgers ala carte: one with beef brisket.

1.20 pm - myburgerlab at MyTown Mall.

4.03 pm - broccoli that he blanched in the morning for his dinner with remaining duck and duck gizzards from previous days.

Longan Taro Balls Ice

On Thursday 14.apr.22, went to Sri Petaling to buy food for the Elderlies and ourselves.

*** Wed 13.apr.22 ***

1 pm - we shared this tub of shaved ice as dessert. It has a taro ball，sweet potato balls, longan, grass jelly and boba pearls. Taste good.

There are many toppings combinations for this shaved ice and I chose the one with longan fruit. Bought this dessert in order to reach the amount to be qualified to use PestaPanda promo code to get MYR 10 off.

6 pm - his dinner which he ate half and kept the remaining half in the fridge for me to clear. Braised lean pork, one braised egg, salted vegetables and rice.

After using PestaPanda promo code, the total price for two items is MYR 18 only. A good price.

12 noon - his lunch of watercress ribs soup, salted chicken, fried egg and rice from Good Luck Dim Sum eatery in Sri Petaling. He ate all these food in one sitting.

Mango Deluxe Snowflake Pickup

 Today is Tuesday 22.jun.21 Day 8 of 14 (2). Yesterday we stayed home and he cooked abc soup.

We were on the way home and the weather is so hot that we ordered snowflake ice to be picked up and we ate it at home.

Top view of Mango Deluxe. Very refreshing when eaten on a hot day.  The packaging is good because the shaved ice didn't melt when I reached home.

Also bought a cold best seller. Please note the containers fees. Buy takeaway only if one doesn't mind paying this fee.

Golden potato van - I saw this van parked quite near Snowflake eatery in kuchai lama. They must be selling the  hollow potato ball that is very popular now. I didn't buy any potato balls because there is a queue of customers waiting to buy the balls.

Instant noodles with mini Kailan and braised pork gravy for my lunch. 

*** Food for Monday 21.jun.21 ***

8.30 am - pork bitter gourd soup from ICC Pudu bought on Saturday. He added siew bok choy, Mee hoon and one egg to it for breakfast and kept a small portion for me which I ate at 9.20 am.

12.30 noon - I ate this coney beef sausage bought on Fri for lunch to clear it.

12.40 noon - he boiled abc soup for lunch.

And had the soup with this yam rice bought on Sat from ICC Pudu for lunch. I didn't try any of the yam rice.

6.30 pm - my portion of abc soup with a bit of rice. He ate the same food as dinner too.

Kakiyuki DTF

Matcha Mont Blanc Ice from Kakiyuki, Gardens mall. Sweetness level is low, natural tasting ingredients.

Sencha ice, houjicha jelly, matcha ice cream, matcha mont blanc, orange peel mochi, matcha warabimochi, yuzu dango, sweetened red bean, fresh strawberry and buttered rice puffs. I think the buttered rice puffs are out of place here though I understand they are included for the crunchy texture to contrast against the other items. Next time I will order a customized bowl of this ice and only select the items I like.

Hot dessert - his selection of red bean sweet soup with yuzu dango.

Total amount is MYR 41 nett. My dine-in-2021 #5 on Tue 4.may.21 from 1249 to 1320 ish.

Ginseng Chicken Soup with noodles from Din Tai Fung, Gardens mall. His selection.

10 pork xiao long bao is my selection. We share both dishes.

Total bill is MYR 57.15 nett. My dine-in-2021 #6 on Tue 4.may.21 from 1330 to 1348 ish. Super fast eating, just eat and be on our way. No chit chatting.

Yong Kang Beef Noodle

Still on Thu 8 Nov 2018 Day 3 in Taipei - 3 pm - I switched MRT lines to get to my favourite beef noodles eatery in Taipei while everyone went back to the hotel to check into another room to rest. Yong Kang Beef Noodle (永康牛肉麵) - nearest MRT station is Dong Men, take exit 4. I wrote about this eatery for my trips to Taipei in 2014 and 2018.

Address: No. 17, Lane 31, Section 2, Jinshan South Rd, Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan 106.

Ordered takeaway a small portion of noodles with beef shank and beef tendon at TWD 260 (about MYR 38 nett). Many people would say that there are better beef noodles in Taipei at a lower price and I would agree about the price part but not on the taste part because every one has their own preference on the taste. For me, this is it.

This photo was taken at 5 pm: everyone in the room shared this small portion of beef noodle. Very tasty.

After buying the beef noodle, I took the MRT back to Shuang Lian MRT station (our hotel stop) and walked to my favourite ice dessert shop - 雙連圓仔湯 (Shuāng lián yuán zǐ tāng) and reached the shop at 3.44 pm. I wrote about this shop a few times, starting from 2014. I asked my family to join me here but all of them said they were still full so I went to eat alone because when I am in Taipei, I must eat this ice dessert.

My order is always the same - plain shaved ice with no sugar and 3 toppings which must be lotus seeds, yam cubes and boiled peanuts at TWD 100 (about MYR 15). Mmmmm, so delicious, so refreshing and so satisfying.

I can't write many chinese words but I know how to write "without sugar" - 無糖

They have renovated their shop so the shop look a bit different from the photos in 2014.

4.30 pm - I walked back to the hotel and on the way back, I bought this pack of coffee - Mandheling and Brazil Blend from Cama Cafe at TWD 300 (about MYR 44) for my friend because I seldom drink coffee.

*** Tuesday 7 July 2020 d112 *** 

Dine in 5 - Ooops, over ordered for two pax at 11.30 am for an early lunch at Prosperity Bowl, SS2, PJ. All the dishes are on a sharing basis though some dishes are ordered by him and some by me. Food tastes good especially the pumpkin dessert.

His order: 

White Curry mee (photo below) - MYR 9 nett.

Pork balls (small portion - 5 balls - 3jc style pork balls) - MYR 5 nett.

Cold white coffee - MYR 3 nett.

My order:

Curry Chicken (small portion) - MYR 7.50 nett.

Dry mee hoon mixed with hor fun (small portion) - MYR 2.50 nett.

One portion steamed chicken breast meat - MYR 7.50 nett.

Pumpkin dessert with cubes of yam - MYR 4 nett.

White curry mee (MYR 9 nett) with bean curd puffs, cockles, long bean, blood cubes, shredded chicken and beansprout.

I mixed all the curry gravy into my bowl of dry meehoon mixed hor fun noodles. Not spicy in the mouth but spicy in the tummy.

We intended to buy takeaway but after seeing the eatery with only one table occupied, we decided to dine in instead and got carried away and ordered too many dishes for two pax. At 12 noon, more people started to dine in for lunch so we quickly finish all our food and went to buy takeaway for dinner and next day's meals from another shop.

We also bought one portion of steamed chicken breast meat (MYR 7.50 nett) and a packet of char siew rice at MYR 14.50 nett and dropped them off at my friend's place for her lunch.

Walked to the back row of shops, to this Aunty Melon eatery and bought food as takeaways. I have eaten at this place once in Feb 2020.

There was only one table occupied - a mother with two boys about 8 years old dining in.

We ordered:

Bittergourd ribs with rice at MYR 11 nett (I ate this dish last time).

Ginger duck with rice at MYR 13 nett.

Pepper pork stomach soup at MYR 7 nett.

Containers at MYR 1 nett so total price is MYR 32 nett.

6.20 pm - for dinner we shared the pork stomach pepper soup with the two portions of rice (because they put two portions of rice into one container) and the bitter gourd ribs. Kept the ginger duck for the next day. The above is the portion kept for me.

I scooped the rice into the bitter gourd ribs container to soak up all the gravy. This is an exception case of me eating rice for dinner. In the morning at 9.30 am, I ate 3 slices of gardenia wholemeal bread with kaya. I was hungry at 11 pm due to eating too much food during the day but I just drink water and go to sleep.

Takeaway food from prosperity bowl: 1 portion chicken breast meat at MYR 7.50 nett and 1 portion of char siew (BBQ pork) rice at MYR 14.50 nett. The rice is the chicken rice so it is tasty on its own without the sauce from the char siew. The char siew is 80% fats because I believe it is pork belly. As for the chicken breast meat, I was told that it was quite tough. I find that surprising because the chicken breast meat I ate in the shop itself was not tough. I guess each chicken has different meat texture.

I bought takeaway for my friend after reading this article dated 2 July 2014 that was hanging on the wall.
