WG Vermicelli Vege Mix

I did not order my default dish, Pork Chop Rice at MYR 16.89++ (MYR 19.60 nett) at Pho Vietz, One Utama. Instead I had spring roll and pork chop dry vermicelli (thick mee hoon) with lots of raw vegetables such as raw beansprout (taugeh), cucumbers, lettuce, basil and pickled carrots at MYR 14.06++ (MYR 16.30 nett after 10% service charge and 6% SST). A sweet and sour fish sauce is provided to mix into the vermicelli but I returned it immediately when it was put on the table and the staff was so surprised. I guess he does not understand how anyone could eat this dish without any sauce but I like it this way without any sauce.

Total Bill for 4 pax: MYR 58.80 nett. Average price spent per pax is about MYR 14.70 nett.

Zun express at Midvalley Mall. CNY set lunch for 2 pax at MYR 56.80++ (MYR 65.57 nett). Add 2 hard boiled eggs for MYR 1.20++ (10% service charge and 6% SST = MYR 1.40 nett) each.

So red

Fish - MYR3, Vege (Kangkung - water convolvulus and mixed vegetables chinese cabbage - wong nga pak - stirfry) - MYR2 each, Very small portion of rice - MYR0.60 so total is MYR7.60

Although the fish seems cooked well but when I was eating it, red liquid was oozing out and as you can see from the photo, it is so red. It was definitely not a good eating experience but I ate every morsel on the plate.

Bitter gourd rice

This is steamed bitter gourd pork rice - MYR7.50 - more pieces of bitter gourd than pork meat served by Yau Hao Fook eatery.  The taste is quite acceptable for a fuss free meal.

Blanched Choy Sum vegetable - MYR6 - we requested for nothing to be added to it, just blanched and served. Prices are nett and we shared this meal between the two of us as I take only a little food as dinner.

Like I have mentioned here, when I do not know what to eat, I will go for a braised hard boiled egg and two vegetable dishes. So does the photo below look like this photo? The only difference is that the long bean there has been replaced by bok choy here.

Fish and Spinach

Since we did not get to eat the fish slice noodles at the Big Family coffee shop, we went to another eatery to eat some fish slices in soup after our brief stop at the Waterfront, Desa Park City. It was about 2 pm at that time.

Sang Yu slices (ikan Haruan) with baby spinach soup - MYR17 - there are 6 thick slices of fish - 3 slices deep fried and 3 slices not fried. You can choose to have all deep fried or all not fried. I like to eat these fish slices. If only this eatery is near my place then I will eat it every week.

There is really a lot of baby spinach in this soup so it is really worth the price of MYR17 and I could not finish it on my own, have to share it with others.

Soong Fish (松鱼) Head Noodles - Not Fried - MYR10.50 with a milky soup. The other choice is to have deep fried fish. There is a Cantonese saying "松鱼头鲩鱼尾" (Sōng yú tóu huàn yú wěi - Mandarin) meaning if you want to eat fish head, then eat Soong Fish (Big Head Carp), if you want to eat the fish tail, then eat Wan Fish (Grass Carp).

Tasty cendol ice at MYR4.50 a bowl. All prices are nett prices.

We always eat in the air-conditioned outlet since it is bright and looks airy. There is another open air outlet very nearby and the price there I think is a bit lower but I have never been there so I can't verify this.
