Nestum Brown Rice Instant Cereal

The usual price for one big pack is MYR 11.70 nett but on that day, Aeon Big is selling each big pack for MYR 8.90 nett so I bought two big packs of different types. These drinks are handy when one is very hungry and wants to have a quick drink to stop the hunger. Nestum is a multi-grain drink that has wheat, corn, and rice and I have been eating it from young.

Brown rice drinks with 26% less sugar.

Brown rice version - does not look any different.

Just mix with hot water and eat.

The chocolate version.

Mix with hot water and eat - so easy. The chocolate version is much sweeter than the brown rice version so I prefer the brown rice version. Next time I will mix this chocolate version with plain instant oats to lessen the sweetness and to bulk up the volume.

*** Sunday 26 July 2020 d131 ***

7.55 am - not my breakfast of vit's air dried thick noodles in the previous day pork Yee Mee remaining broth with added vege, ham and egg.

9.37 am - I had to eat this portion of noodles because he cooked 3 bricks of noodles when he saw how small a brick is without realizing that it was a compressed brick and that one brick of noodles is enough for a meal so should have just cooked one for breakfast and not 3.

2.30 pm - late lunch of chicken rice MYR 5.50 nett and very very salty and oily ckt with Mee MYR 6.50 nett from friendship cafe. Bought 3jc too at MYR 7 nett for breakfast the next day.

DIY Milo Slushy

Now that I have milo, I made milo slushy using a pack of 30 g milo. I guess everyone knows how to diy milo slushy and has done it before.

30 g of milo powder looks quite a lot.

Pour a bit of hot water, just enough to stir in the milo powder.

Add cool or cold water until the hot milo is no longer hot. Put this drink into the freezer.

After about 4 hours, the milo drink is now frozen but not fully frozen. I can easily turn the spoon that is embedded in the frozen milo.

Keep on stirring the spoon in the almost frozen milo to get milo slushy. Nice to drink during a hot day.

Alpaca Tang

I have eaten at Taiwan Recipe, Midvalley Mall once but did not like the food there mainly because I have been to Taiwan many times and I prefer the food in Taiwan. One day when passing the store to visit Mr. DIY, I noticed these soft toys on their counter and wondered what are they about.

It seems that Taiwan Recipe has jumped onto the Boba drinks wagon and is now having their own Boba Pearl Drinks called Alpaca Tang and those soft toys on their counter are Alpacas. I wonder what has an Alpaca got to do with Pearl drinks. They are most definitely not using milk from Alpacas I would think. Anyway, I am not going to try.

My friend bought the best seller milk pearl drink from Xing Fu Tang and let me have a sip. As I already know, I did not like it at all because it has a sort of fake thick cream taste which my friend does not know what I am talking about so maybe it is just me.

Good Blue Men cafe at Happy Mansion, Section 17, PJ which my lunch friends have been to many times but not me because I was always not around when they lunch at this place.

Xiao by Crustz also at Happy Mansion, Section 17, PJ which serves very dainty and delicate cakes and desserts so I have not been there because I seem to think the cakes are priced out of my reach.

My friends visited this eatery named Aftermeal in Uptown (same row with Annie 1) just to purchase drinks as takeaway after our lunch at Mama Lee.

The staff hard at work, preparing the drinks.

My friend won a buy 1 get 1 free gift voucher via fb.

Seems like their special Tea is named Iron Lady Tea.

Milk Tea Queues

Saw this queue at this milk tea drinks shop at MyTown Mall, Cheras.

Are they all queuing for this Honey Golden Pearl?

Another long queue at Pavilion Elite Mall.

This time, it is for this "Tiger Sugar" pearl milk tea. I also know about the long queues at "The Alley", another popular pearl milk tea brand. I have not tried any of them because I am keeping my sugar quota for my ice cream and ice shavings. Not going to waste them on pearl milk teas.

WG Will Power

We went to BMS Organics at The Starling Mall on chor yat (1st day of the lunar month - 5 April 2019). They are now providing foc apple vinegar drink with foc bread instead of just the hot ginger drink. As before, I ordered two drinks at a special price of MYR11.90+ (6% SST = MYR 12.62 nett) from the promotional menu and drank them all by myself because my friend does not want one.

I ordered the pumpkin rice as before and I will keep ordering this dish whenever I eat here because of the way they cook pumpkin until it tastes so delicious. I kept half the rice and pumpkin for dinner and ate all the salad.

Total price for 2 pax: MYR 47.90 nett. We were given two organic cucumbers foc.

Clear

Saw this drink making the rounds online. Looks like water but tastes like milk tea so I was curious and bought a bottle to try.

Premium Morning Tea by Suntory it says on the label.

The ingredients include magnesium chloride, caffein, mint extract among other things.

It costs MYR 8.49 per bottle. It does smell faintly of tea but I don't think it tastes like milk tea at all. I let all my friends try this drink and they think that the sweetness over powers the tea taste.

Liquid Lunch

I was still full from breakfast so for lunch, I just had the above two items:
1. A very refreshing drink named "Will Power" (beetroot, green apple, honey and lemon) at MYR 5.95 nett from the "buy 2 drinks at MYR 11.90 nett menu". The price stated in the ala carte menu for this is MYR 11.90 nett and for the item below is MYR 8.90 nett.
2. Pumpkin Barley Dessert - MYR 4.90 nett from the add-on-to-main-meals menu since my friend ordered main meals. This dessert is quite sweet but I was told the sweetness is from the pumpkin.

No Mains

These dishes are listed as appetisers at Madam Kwan Restaurant and we ordered them to share between the 4 of us.

Beef satay aka skewered BBQ beef served with peanut sauce, raw onions, cucumber, pineapple, compressed rice at MYR17.90++  (MYR20.90 nett) for 6 sticks per portion.

Otak otak aka Fish meat with spices grilled in banana leaf at MYR19.90++ (MYR23.20 nett) and chicken satay aka skewered BBQ chicken meat served with peanut sauce, raw onions, cucumber, pineapple, compressed rice at MYR14.90++ (MYR17.40 nett) for 6 sticks per portion.

The drink I ordered - Fresh Mango Juice - MYR10.90++ (MYR12.70 nett). I can't tell whether it is pure fresh mango juice or not because it tasted like it has some mango cordial in it.

Fruit Rojak aka local fruits served with peanuts and shrimp paste sauce at MYR14.90++  (MYR17.40 nett) with crackers.

After the plate of crackers has been removed, the saucer of peanuts and shrimp paste sauce is revealed. There are sticks of cucumber, jicama, pineapple, mango and ambarella. Some of us take the fruits and mix them with the sauce on our own plates and some of us just take some sauce and fruits and dip the fruits in the sauce before eating. I just ate the fruits as they are without the sauce.

New product

I notice this new item on the supermarket shelf going for MYR2.60 nett per bottle and am curious to find out what the difference is between this and the usual one so I bought one at a promotion price of MYR2.20 to try.  So far, it is still in my fridge. I couldn't find a right time to drink it yet.

The name is Nutri G

Net Content: 190ml
