*** Lemon Curd cake The Hub ***

Nadeje Cafe Gardens Mall

On Monday 3.apr.2023, stayed home the whole day. He cooked petai, enoki mushrooms, coriander omelette for dinner.

*** Sunday 2.mar.2023 ***

12.57 noon - all for me alone. The mixed berry chiffon cake MYR 10.80 nett is only available during weekend so I ordered it to try. Light berry taste with a layer of sugary crust in top. Very easy to eat.

Mocha millicrepe cake with alcohol MYR 16.50 nett but I couldn't taste the alcohol. The layers of cream in between the crepes are smooth and rich.

Iced Malacca latte MYR 13.8 nett uses gula melaka and coconut milk. The coffee taste is strong enough so it is refreshing but I don't like the taste of the coconut milk that was used. Seems to have a special additional fragrant. I took back home half portion and drank it the next day.

12.56 noon - they thought two persons are eating these two cakes so they gave me two forks.

MYR 41.10 nett for desserts.

12.54 noon - Nadeje Cafe at the Gardens Mall.

The decor is in the style of English Tea Rooms.

I sat there alone looking out.

Didn't sit at these small tables.

This Nadeje Cafe Gardens Mall is located near Jaya Grocer.

*** Monday 3.apr.2023 ***

4.52 pm - I checked the remaining portion of petai and managed to get 46 petai. About 3 petai are moldy and 1 petai has a worm in it.

He cooked this Petai, enoki mushrooms, coriander omelette for his dinner and I ate a small portion. Very flavourful, the Coriander taste is very nice with a tinge of citrusy taste.

I ate the small Portion of food from Tuck Tuck Tei chapfan stall bought on Sunday for my omad and a small portion of this omelette.

Nadeje

Looks so tempting. Millicrepes! So many flavours. The minimum price for a slice here is MYR12.50 and the minimum price for a whole cake is MYR95.

Nadeje with its headquarters in Malacca has opened many outlets in the Klang valley now including a kiosk at One Utama Mall. I am happy to spot this new kiosk in the Midvalley Mall and will definitely eat here one day but which flavour to choose? The last time I ate a slice of Millicrepe is at Humble Beginnings in 2014.

Humble Beginnings

Mille Crepe - anyone who likes to eat creamy sweet cakes would love to eat this. Now you can see them being sold in almost every desserts or cakes shops, and cafes but not all of them are tasty. I like those that are light, soft and fluffy so for those slices that have been lying in the fridge for some time, they wouldn't taste nice at all because they would be on the dry side.

My favourite Mille Crepe is made by Humble Beginnings (now available in Bangsar Baru, KLCC food court, QueensBay Mall, Straits Quay, Penang, City Square, Johor). They did not have stores back then and the cakes are usually made and delivered on order. Even now I find that it is best to order a whole mille crepe and eat it at home with many of your friends than to order a slice in the cafe because a slice would be most probably be a little dry on the edges.

The other mille crepes from other places including the popular place in Malacca (there is a branch now in 3 Two Square, PJ) that I have eaten before are too rich and creamy, not the way I like them - light and fluffy. Do you like them rich and creamy or light and fluffy?

I found a review of Mille Crepe here and out of the 5 places reviewed, I have tried 4 of them namely Humble Beginnings, Nadeje, Food Foundry, and Indulge Cafe which also owns Arthur Hokkaido Mille Crepe (available at Sungai Wang and Pavilion, KL) and I agree with the reviewer about the best Mille Crepe.

Raspberry Yogurt Mille crepe - MYR10.90 - a slice shared with a friend.
