Tian Fang Puchong Jaya

 Drinks Tasting Day.

Six types of drinks. This is similar to wine tasting except no wine here but permutations and combinations of tea, coffee, white coffee and cocoa drinks. 😋

All the drinks are not that sweet and the milk used does not have an over powering milky taste so the fragrance of the tea, coffee or cocoa are not covered by the milk taste. These drinks are suitable for those persons who don't like milky taste.

Our order on grabfood delivery. Peniagakecil promo gave us a discount of MYR 5 nett from the delivery fee of MYR 10 nett.

This is the fried chicken in the fried chicken coffee set. It is a boneless chicken chop made from a whole leg of the chicken with crispy peppery coating and juicy tender meat. Highly recommended.

Top: chocolate banana swiss roll at MYR 16.50 nett.
Bottom: Nanyang coffee swiss roll at MYR 17 nett. Their prices are higher than RT Pastry swiss rolls because these two swiss rolls are denser and heavier.

He can eat both swiss rolls because the cream used are non dairy creams without any milk taste. He prefers the chocolate banana swiss roll due to the fresh banana in the middle of the roll and crunchy chocolate balls similar to the texture of maltesers chocolate balls being embedded throughout the swiss roll.

Into the fridge they all go to wait for our tummies to have space for them again.

The packing checklist by Tian Fang Cafe in Bandar Puchong Jaya. Efficient service as it took less than one hour from the time we placed the order to receiving our items.

*** Tian Fang Partial Menu ***

This Tian Fang has many main dishes such as nasi lemak, Mee Siam, pasta, hainanese chicken chop on their menu but here I will just show the part of their menu with the items that are in my order.

I ordered the fried chicken with coffee set. The price charged is MYR 1 higher for the packaging I believe or because I chose Large portion for coffee. When I copied the screen, it was earlier than their opening hours so I get the messages "This restaurant is temporarily closed" and "unavailable" in the screen above. The distance is 14.8 km away from my place.

Of the 4 available swiss rolls in the list, I ordered two of them.

Of the 7 non soft drinks on the menu, we ordered 6 drinks to taste.

The drink that we didn't order is Teh Tarik.

*** Sepetang Nasi Lemak Day ***

Sunday is our Sepetang Nasi Lemak day. This coffee shop only allows 3 customers to queue for the nasi Lemak inside the shop. If you are customer number 4, you need to queue outside the shop and go in only when one customer is done with the order and exits the coffee shop.

This is my usual nasi lemak with a small portion of rice at MYR 7 nett. The bittergourd, soyknot and egg tofu are from the chap fan below.

I also bought chap fan takeaway from Tuck Tuck Tei economy rice shop a few units away from Sepetang coffee shop. This chap fan aka economy rice costs MYR 7.50 nett with one pork chop, bitter gourd, soy knots, egg tofu and a small portion of rice. Two of us shared this rice dish as dinner.

*** Are You Ready for Full Lockdown ? ***

After seeing the long queues at various supermarkets in online photos and videos, I placed an order for delivery from Aeon Supermarket in Taman Maluri to be received on Sat 29.may.21 between 5 pm to 7 pm. Unfortunately they couldn't make it on Sat so I was informed that the delivery slot for me is changed to Sun 30.may.21 from 11 am to 1 pm.

8 minutes to 1 pm, my order was delivered without 3 items that are out of stock. I wonder will the system automatically refund the amount of these 3 items to me since they are out of stock. Will find out from Aeon customer service personnel afterwards.

The above eggs and oats are for the elderlies.

These two swiss rolls from Tian Fang Cafe and budget banana cake from Aeon Supermarket delivery are for us two.

Oops, I think I may have bought too many packs of bread and buns so will be giving away the two loaves of bread to my friend.

Are you ready for the full lockdown from 1.jun.21 to 14.jun.21 ? Or do you plan to go out daily to buy food during all 14 days.
Do stay safe! 🙏😷 and wear double masks. Bye May.

Stay Home Clear Food

We stayed home the whole of yesterday, Mon 24.may.21 without ordering any food delivery so that we can clear out the food in our fridge.

12.17 noon - His lunch: Brown Basmathi Rice stir fried with mui choy pork belly bought from Teo Chew Lao Er on Wed, 19.may.21 which is 5 days ago. Added in a fried egg and some iceberg lettuce.

2.22 pm - I ate this slice of bread with butter and mixed berries spread that he prepared for me when he ate his breakfast at around 8 am as breakfast. I don't know what I was doing the whole morning.

3.10 pm - my lunch of brown basmathi rice cooked on Sat, 22.may.21 and the spicy salty mustard greens dish from Teo Chew Lao Er bought 5 days ago on Wed, 19.may.21 which I ate both direct from the fridge. Very nice cos I like the taste of the Kai choy with its slight bitterness.

5.10 pm - I ate all the remaining RT chocolate swiss roll with butter cream bought 12 days ago on Thu 13.may.21 so it is one more food cleared.

5.54 pm - both of us cleared this very flavour snack which has been left half eaten in the fridge. It left a sweet taste in my mouth.

The flavour is anchovy taste.

7 pm - pork mihun from Sepetang coffee shop bought on Sun, 23.may.21 for dinner.

7.13 pm - my portion of pork mihun.

So by staying at home, we managed to clear the 4 days food which lasted us for 6 days. Also cleared the RT chocolate swiss roll and the anchovy snack.

So Tasty

On Thu, 13.may.21 which is Raya day 1, I went to RT Pastry, Taman Desa to buy the Taro Swiss Roll again because it is delicious - light, fluffy and taste refreshingly good. The light fresh cream complements the taro jelly paste in the middle. It is not that sweet and the colour is very light purple. The price is MYR 13.60 nett.

As I am the only person eating it, I use a spoon to scoop the swiss roll but I make sure that my saliva and my mouth does not touch the spoon at all when I eat the cake. Today, 5 days after buying it, there is still half a taro swiss roll in my fridge. I tend to eat food slowly.

On that day, the chocolate swiss roll is on offer with a promotional price of MYR 10 nett when the normal price is MYR 11.80 nett so I bought one roll. It has heavy butter cream instead of light fresh cream so I prefer the taro swiss roll. After 5 days, there is still half a chocolate swiss roll in my fridge.

RT Taro Swiss Roll

Bought this taro swiss roll from RT Pastry on mother's day. Don't remember how much it costs but should be around MYR 12. This swiss roll is special because it has a smooth taro jelly in the middle and uses fresh cream. The sponge cake part is soft and fluffy. The jelly can also be considered as taro paste.

I also bought a wholemeal swiss roll but no photo here. The wholemeal swiss roll uses butter cream with a tinge of orange taste so the taro swiss roll tastes better with the jelly in the middle and the fresh cream.

Yik Kee

On the way back to KL, we dropped by Yik Kee restaurant on the main street of Karak to buy the famous durian puffs.
Clean street

I read that they sell dim sum too

Here are the pastries

I spotted swissrolls on the top shelf

A durian puff - MYR2.20 each - quite small, about 2 cm in diameter

If you like to eat durian and deep fried sweet pastry, you will like to eat this durian puff.

No, there is no passion fruit jelly in the box

Swissroll - MYR11 for one roll - a bit dense but still soft and nice to eat. Not those super fluffy and light types.
