Ma Maison Yee Sang

On Wednesday 31.jan.2024, went to midvalley mall. He wanted to eat ramen but we ended up eating tonkatsu. Bought late lunch for the elderly.

*** Tonkatsu by Ma Maison ***

11.58 am - not so big Yee Sang with a big price - MYR 68.20 nett. Taste is fine. This yee sang is special because it tastes of lard and the sauce is not plum sauce but is a savoury soy lard sauce. The raw ingredients are crunchy and refreshing.

12.03 noon - mixed with auspicious sayings.

11.59 am - his sakura katsu MYR 54.40 nett which is super tender pork loin.

11.40 am - we saw this sakura katsu menu a few months back and have been wanting to try it ever since but didn't have any chance of doing so until now.

There are 4 different sets with sakura katsu.

1. Sakura Rosu katsu with ume wafu set MYR 54.40 nett which is his order.

2. Sakura Rosu & jumbo prawn & mentai mayo set MYR 88 nett.

3. Nabe sakura Rosu katsu and oyster set MYR 56.70 nett

4. Curry udon with cheese sakura Rosu katsu MYR 45.10 nett

11.44 am - these two radish palate cleanser dishes were served as starters.

12.37 noon - the waitress offers to cut the grapefruit into 4 segments for us. They gave us two jelly desserts for the sets.

11.40 am - this yee sang menu tempted me to order this yee sang.

1.15 pm - impulse gaming. Bought a silver controller about MYR 309 from this new shop.

*** Chok Kar Chong eatery ***

2.47 pm - the elderly's late lunch. Ate one piece of pork trotter and all of the half portion of rice with ribs from the peppery soup and siew yuk. Bought the siew yuk in the morning. The stomach peppery soup is too peppery for the elderly so kid3 has to microwave the soup and finish it.

2.59 pm - the elderly bought one papaya so kid3 cut it and we ate half and the elderly ate a few pieces and the remaining pieces are kept in the fridge.

New Mun Kee Steam Fish Head

On Tuesday 30.jan.2024, early morning he went over to prepare breakfast for the elderly and packed 3 bags of clothes to be sent to recycle drop off point. Then we went to Golden Chopsticks coffee shop eat chapfan and buy takeaway lunch for the elderly.

11 pax ate dinner at New Mun Kee Steam Fish Head Jalan Lazat 1.

7.27 pm - kid2 has eaten steamed fish head at this eatery many times whenever he is back from the causeway so he suggested dinner for all at this eatery. He ordered two fish heads, one ginger paste and one black bean. Both fish heads are fresh and tasty. Soong Fish Head has a slight muddy taste but it is still delicious. The elderly enjoyed eating this fish very much. The prices for these two dishes are MYR 39 nett and MYR 41 nett. Total bill is MYR 266 nett.

7.24 pm - kid1 spouse ordered salted fish pork belly slices. Fu yee Yao mak aka little gem lettuce is the vegetable dish.

7.24 pm - kid2 spouse ordered sweet potato leaves vegetables. The tokan in the tofu tokan dish tastes like vegetarian duck.

*** Tue 30.jan.2024 ***

Food from Golden Chopsticks coffee shop Sri Petaling.

10.41 am - 2 chapfan no rice and 1 champing aka iced coffee mixed tea drink, total MYR 20 nett. My favorite chapfan items: lean nam yue chicken firm breast meat, soft tender yin choy and broccoli cauliflower.

11.26 am - the elderly's lunch of plain congee and 2 dishes: zhar yuk Muk yee and stir fry egg glass noodles which he didn't finish.

*** Clear Food ***

2.47 pm - I ate these herbs he used to cook lohongo drink on the previous Saturday. Ate them for the fibers. Taste quite nice 👍🙂

3.24 pm - ate the remaining curry puff from thong Kee bought on the previous Friday. He steamed purple sweet potato in the morning and forgot to put the lid on the sweet potato container in the kitchen. Luckily I checked the kitchen before going out and stored the sweet potatoes properly.

Ate 1 piece of purple sweet potato with natural sweetness. Round it up with a mandarin orange to wrap up my meals for the day by 4 pm.

*** Greentea aka matcha powder ***

6.41 am - finally used up all the green tea powder to make refreshing matcha drink.

Must remember to get the same brand because it tastes very authentic. Nicchahan uji maccha green tea 80g.

*** 7 spices Gift ***

5.03 pm - received this 7 spices shichimi togarashi from a friend who went to Japan recently. Just sprinkle the powder on plain rice and eat the rice with the 7 spices, tasty 😋 👍

Modern Yee Sang Red Kettle

On Monday 29.jan.2024, after serving lunch to the elderly, went to PJ to buy guppies fish and ended up at the Starling mall.

*** Red Kettle CNY ***

11.55 am - a single portion of yee sang MYR 39.90++ which is more than enough for 2 pax with smoked salty salmon slices, quinoa, cashew nuts, coriander, pomelo, carrots, ginger, cucumber, salad leaves, papaya and etc. Tastes good 👍 😋

12.01 noon - after Lou sang, all mixed together with auspicious sayings.

11.47 am - no mocha cake so black forest cake will do MYR 18.90++ with my iced long black MYR 13.90++ and his flat white MYR 13.90++ which ended up in my tummy because he finds that it has too much milk.

12.26 noon - pork chop MYR 29.90++ which we shared. I wanted to order the beef oyster blade steak but he prefers pork so since we are sharing a main meal, pork it is then.

12.28 noon - 3 slices of lean pork chop, exactly the way I like them to be as lean as can be with peas, carrots, and potatoes wedges.

1.29 pm - this Tang Jin booth has many pretty CNY dresses for customers to try on and buy for CNY.

After starling mall, went to buy 5 fishes and 2 water plants for MYR 33 nett.

9.41 am - we shared a champing MYR 3 nett, curry noodles MYR 9 nett and roast chicken drumstick siew yuk egg MYR 12 nett for breakfast at million ocean coffee shop. Supposed to be omad but we ended up eating lunch at red kettle after that. He got back his 12 after spending 55 yesterday and dropping 100. Bought congee for the elderly brunch from fatty mok and added one tea egg into the congee.

10.13 am - the Elderly walked out in the morning and bought this pack of mini Kams and newspaper.

Pudu ICC food court

On Sunday 28.jan.2024, went Pudu ICC food court for breakfast and then went to Aeon Taman maluri to do CNY grocery shopping for my friend.

*** Madam Eng Curry Noodles ***

8.36 am - since we are sitting near this curry stall, he bought a bowl of curry noodles MYR 11 nett to try. Creamy curry broth, just a little spicy. We were asked whether or not we wanted seeham aka cockles and we replied yes.

8.29 am - there was a long queue at the popiah stall that I usually buy from so I went to Alice popiah stall instead. Seaweed popiah MYR 7.50 nett. Crunchy raw jicama is so naturally sweet.

8.18 am - his favourite pork noodles with tender livers.

8.19 am - claypot hot cham drink MYR 2.8 nett. Claypot iced coffee O MYR 4.2 nett and thin crispy butter kaya toasts MYR 3.5 nett. Total MYR 10.50 nett.

8.26 am - my friend requested me to buy a plate of thick apam Balik MYR 8 nett. I also bought a container of thin apam Balik for my friend to compare against the thick ones.

8.20 am - apam Balik stall.

8.17 am - my friend also asked me to buy a box of 3 brown and 3 green put chai gou MYR 5 nett.

8.17 am - I bought a box of 3 pulut panggang MYR 5 for my friend.

*** Hock hua tonic ***

11.39 am - he bought 2 boxes of chicken essence for the elderly.

12.28 noon - half a char siew bao from Foo Hing Dim Sum and a bit of gwai Lin gou from hock hua tonic.

12.44 noon - the elderly ate the congee that kid1 sent but didn't eat the yau zhar gwai so I ate it to clear it.
