Ho Family Kitchen

Today is Friday 2.jul.21 Day 4 of PPN phase 1, spouse jab1 day. Yesterday was both elderlies' jab1 day.

Both elderlies in their 80s made the decision to go for jabs on Sunday so their son registered them in his app as dependants to request for jabs on Monday. On Tuesday the app says date of jab is on Thursday. Super efficient!

Two elderlies so both of us accompany one each as the slot is 9.30 am and 10.30 am. SOP says with patients, max 3 pax in one car so I was dropped off earlier at the venue to wait for the car to pick up both elderlies and sent them to the drop off point to hand over to me.

All 4 checked in the venue at 9.16 am and the whole process was completed at 10.29 am. Quite good. The queue was fast moving so the people didn't accumulate into crowding. Both of them were assigned Comirnaty by the doctors as this venue has two types. Jab2 in 3 weeks.

8.45 am - was ready at the drop off point.
9.08 am - both elderlies were dropped off here.

After that, the car sent the elderlies home and returned to pick me up to go buy takeaway food from Swee Heng coffee shop and BC & S coffee shop for the elderlies.

Then I saw this coffee shop with snacks so went to buy some snacks to eat during tea time.

11.39 am - the signboard just says KOPI. Underneath this word in very small letters: Ho Family Kitchen.

It is located on the same row of shops as Overseas restaurant in Sri Petaling.

Huge banner for Kee Mei Siew Pow.

1.24 pm - bought 2 Kee Mei Siew Pow, 1 kaya puff, 1 planta kaya puff, 1 red and 1 yellow round pastry ball for a total of MYR 12 nett.

Cross section of planta kaya puff. Savoury from the planta and sweet from the kaya. He says taste like toasts with butter and kaya but a bit too oily.

Kaya puff. Not so oily. Just sweet, not savoury.

Red bean pastry that newlyweds sent as dowry cookies to relatives. I just love to eat them.

The newlyweds pastries dowry gifts usually consists of a pair of pastries - one yellow and one red and I love to eat both.

For dinner, at 4.50 pm, we ordered Foodpanda delivery from Canton Kitchen and then sent the food over to the elderlies ourselves. They requested for ku lo yuk rice and fish slices ginger spring onions rice.

MYR 8 nett off by using makanonline promo code.

5.24 pm - we ordered Dan chor for ourselves. Salted fish pork belly rice. To avoid the gravy from dripping out of the container, they put the salted fish pork belly dish into a plastic bag and then put the whole plastic bag into the container next to the rice as shown in the photo above.

5.30 pm - a bit of all 3 dishes with rice for his dinner.

6.47 pm - I ate the portion he kept for me after sending the food to the elderlies. This is a slice of pork belly marinated with salted fish gravy until the fatty part is quite crunchy so I ate the whole slice of pork belly without spitting the fatty part out. The salted fish taste is so delicious!

Thu 1.jul.21 6.40 am - he ate an early breakfast of pork mihun bought on wed from Sepetang coffee shop. I ate the portion he kept for me at 6.52 am.

Praying that the elderlies will be ok after the jabs in the long term.

    2. Next time when can dine in, do try this dish, very flavourful but maybe your mother won't like it because pork belly got fatty parts so not healthy as she likes healthy food.

  3. Pork belly with salted fish, I like that. Yesterday I had stir fried pork belly with salted fish and gingerslices. Super appetizing with rice or porridge.

    Hope the elderlies are ok.

    1. Your pork belly salted fish dish must eat with many bowls of rice cos I am sure you put a lot of salted fish to add to the tastiness.

  4. Super efficient process for the elderlies.

I quite like that 'butter kaya' (seller calls it that) pastry as it has some salty to balance the sweet. I have a weakness for this kind of pastries but because there was a convenient stall near my office, at the moment still don't crave for it.
