Barcook Sweet Potato Swiss Roll

Yesterday Thu 22.apr.21 is our weekly grocery shopping day at Midvalley Mall.

Raya decorations at Midvalley Mall. A traditional house.

The front view of the traditional house.

*** Cakes from Barcook ***

I finally bought the sweet potato swiss roll after reading Lina's post about it nearly a year ago.

Side view to see the swirl.

Can feel the sweet potatoes bits inside the cake. Suitable for people who love cream because there is a lot of cream as shown in the photo above.

Total price for 3 items is MYR 42.60 nett.

*** Din Tai Fung Bento ***

Pork chop fried rice bento box. They provided julienned ginger to be eaten with the xiao long bao. That single bao is a lau sar bao.

Prawn fried rice bento. Had them for lunch and dinner.

Total bill is MYR 62.05 nett after applying the 15% self pick up discount.  The bento used to be in cardboard box but now they chose to use this plastic container which is not environmentally friendly.

*** Food for the day ***

7.40 am - two of us shared this 3jc Mee hoon which seems like it is not available in Singapore.

11.20 am - shared these 5 pieces of deep fried dough.
Ate the red bean tong sui inside the car in the car park before getting down to start grocery buying. Total price of 5 pieces of deep fried dough and one portion of red bean tong sui is MYR 9.70 nett.

  1. Did not expect that colour for a sweet potato swiss roll - must be the purple ones. I like the look of the prawn fried rice bento.

  2. Nice raya decoration. I prefer swiss roll with less cream.

  3. ah...deep fried dough....makes me drool! nice to eat with cold tong sui...yumzzz! this year the Raya decor at Mid Valley looks dull (which is good). If too extravagant, people will all flock there to take pics...LOL!

    1. I buy my deep fried dough from Lai Lai dessert shop opposite diagonally from hong leong bank. Where do you usually buy yours?

    1. Some food cannot share because he doesn't eat dairy products and mutton.

  5. That looks a bit too creamy for my liking. :)

The raya decoration is not bad. Glad they still put up raya decor despite the pandemic.

    1. Lots of cream but not that creamy. Is light cream. Guess they put up raya decor to brighten up the mood.
