Peniaram

This kuih has many names. Kuih denderam, kuih peniaram, kuih genderam, kuih derang, kuih benderang, kuih telinga keling dan kuih genderang are some of its name. It is said to be based on Adhirasam, a sweet pastry from India.

It is made from rice flour and gula merah aka molasses and deep fried so it is crunchy outside and soft inside. Have you eaten this before?

I bought the smallest portion at MYR 5 Nett for 25 pieces.

This is the roadside stall selling it.  The banner say Peniaram Kedah.

  1. I love these. Have to go to the kampung to buy these from the kueh stalls there but I'm not going anywhere near there right now. There is a cluster there for quite a while now and it is still active, at least one case a day. Thank goodness they've cancelled their plans to hold the Ramadan Bazaar!!!
