On Tuesday 28.mar.2023, went to buy chapfan lunch for the Elderlies from Choy Kei coffee shop 3jc soup mihun MYR 9 and Hiong Mei chapfan eatery.

QQ Pastry from Good Chen shop in midvalley mall. It is sweet and savoury with mochi, red bean and meat floss fillings. The overall taste is the meat floss taste.

5.13 pm - 4 QQ pastry at MYR 3.8 each and 2 traditional wedding pastry at MYR 5 each.

5.13 pm - the box of 6 items.

2.55 pm - only 3 types of pastry are available and I bought all 3 types to try.

This lotus paste traditional wedding pastry is only slightly sweet.

This red bean traditional wedding pastry is also slightly sweet only.

2.56 pm - Good Chen shop which is next to Manhattan Fish Market eatery in midvalley mall.

Total price for 6 items: MYR 25.20 nett.

I bought the pastries from Good Chen because I was tempted to look for pastry with mochi in it after seeing the above pastries. The Good Chen pastries didn't have salted egg yolk fillings in it.

12.43 noon - his chapfan no rice from Hiong Mei chapfan eatery. The pieces of siew yuk on top are bought by one elderly from the morning makeshift market within walking distance from their abode.

4.33 pm - for our dinner, he cooked omelette with smoked back bacon, 4 eggs and 42 petai. There are still one portion of remaining petai for another day.

This omelette tastes too luxurious. It should be sufficient to cook two meals:
1. Omelette petai
2. Omelette smoked back bacon

I ate all the remaining curry brinjal that he cooked on monday using brinjal bought on Sunday and curry gravy from the curry mihun he bought on Saturday. He added turmeric powder to this brinjal curry dish so it was very tasty. I ate half a portion on Monday itself and the remaining portion on Tuesday. I am pleased that we didn't waste any of the curry gravy from the curry mihun but ate it all by using it to cook brinjal curry.

  1. I like your omelette. Lol. Indeed, very 'luxurious'.

Only left 3 pastries on the shelves. Maybe late afternoon, most have gone. But the ones you bought looked nice. Now, hardly seen such wedding pastries around. Unless go to some old Chinese pastry shops over here.

    1. Not 3 pastries because there are about more than 11 pastries as can be seen in the photo. Three types of pastries. I think they only make these 3 types of pastries but I need to go more often to shop to check whether they sell other types or not.
