Pre Order Ready Meals

Tuesday 14.dec.21 is his duty day so we went out to buy food as we want to select bread that has the furthest expiry date for the elderlies.

*** Festive Food ***

Fruit cake - keeping it till Christmas.

Huge Bread stick. Shared this bread stick with my friends. It has a thin layer of cheese on top with a bit of spinach embedded in the bread. Slight taste of salt, pepper, basil and oregano.

The list of items that I bought.

The bread stick with the top torn off.

Salmon wellington.

Cross section. The fillings are made of pieces of Salmon and are quite salty so it was shared with my friends as well.

Left: cranberry celery apple minced chicken meat stuffings. Right: brussel sprouts with walnuts which I prefer when compared to the stuffings.

Grilled vegetables - small potatoes, onions, garlic, carrots, broccoli, red capsicum. I took 3 days to eat all these 500 g of grilled vegetables because he doesn't eat any of this food due to the butter taste.

Delivered on Thursday 9.dec 2021. Pre ordered one week earlier. All packed in sturdy boxes.

Tempted by this advert.

*** Today's Food ***

9.47 am - siew yuk and duck breast meat rice shared by 2 pax bought from Lucky Alley coffee shop at MYR 9.50 nett.

5.34 pm - we shared this lotus peanut meat soup rice for early dinner. Bought from lucky alley coffee shop at MYR 20 nett for two sets.

One set is for the Elderlies lunch. They didn't like the lean meat in this soup but they still ate the meat because this was overheard: elderly 1 told elderly 2 that they must not be that picky with the food so they must eat because they won't know what they are getting for the prebooked dinner and if they couldn't eat the items in the prebooked dinner, then they would go hungry so better to just eat the lean meat.

Currently the elderlies' weekdays dinner are prebooked by fav kid from a caterer who will send daily dinner to the elderlies on week days. This type of dinner catering is called bao sik. Some days the food is nice, some days some dishes are not edible according to the Elderlies.

He found some wortip aka pot stickers in the elderlies' fridge from the previous day's prebooked dinner with some remaining food all mixed together which they didn't eat because they say the food was not edible at all. Since the food was all mixed together, he has no choice but to discard them. I guess this may be what elderly 1 meant that the prebooked dinner may not be edible so better to just eat the lean meat for lunch though they would prefer to eat tender juicier meat.

  2. The cake must be premium as the packaging itself looks really premium.

  3. LOL! the elderlies seem to 'behave' well by trying not to be choosy over the type of meat...i mean by no choice since they expect the prebooked meal would be lousier than that!

    2. Not edible is bad. Maybe can request to avoid some of the most hated dishes? Replace with simple thing like fried egg maybe.

  7. I haven't eaten the traditional fruit cake for a long time. Didn't bake a long time too because it is too sweet and rice for us. It is true, some catered food not nice. I have catered food before and some day the food are edible, some terrible. The quality depends on the caterer.
