Kopitiam 95 Desa Petaling

Today is Mon 14.jun.21 Day 14 of 28. Half way mark to the extended lockdown. Pray that the cases would go down after another 14 days.

Yesterday, Sunday was our go taman desa day. I bought takeaway chapfan and cham hot at a total of MYR 10.70 nett paid using TnG ewallet.

This is the SOP I adhered to strictly when out:
1. Wear double layer masks with the cloth mask outside. Make sure the masks fit our face snugly. When I reach home, my face underneath my masks has been steamed slightly by my sweat and body heat so I don't stay out long, at most one hour for the whole duration with the most 6 minutes at one place.

2. Keep a 6 feet distance from people.
3. Don't talk to make chit chat. Just talk the minimum to make the orders. Better to order via app for pickup so no need to talk at all.
4. Don't touch face
5. Sanitize hands as often as possible when out. I did it until the skin on my hands cracked.
6. Don't go into enclosed air conditioned areas.
7. Don't go into places with more than 6 people inside.
8. Run far far away when there are people not wearing masks around. Especially smokers.
9. Pay using ewallet so that don't need to touch and exchange paper money.
10. Only I get down from the car, he stays in the car always. To limit exposure.

Further to that I am isolating myself from all physical and social contacts so I have not been within 6 feet of any of my friends, my extended families and acquaintances since 18.mar.20 which is last year when mco started. Only person I am in close contact with is my spouse so if I get it, I can only say I am extremely bad luck. Fingers crossed 🤞and pray hard 🙏that vaccination happens before bad luck happens.

If I still get it then it must be a very powerful variant and my extremely bad luck to encounter a asymptomatic person who is infectious.

Now what did we eat yesterday. Breakfast was Shingji Kai see hor fun so MYR 11 for him and I cleared that slice of pandan cheese cake direct from the fridge with one coconut flakes bun.

Lunch was chapfan shared by two pax and pork innards in yellow wine soup for him.

Dinner was Shingji prawns mihun in Kai see hor fun soup for him. I ate a bit to taste it. Then I ate two kaya puffs bought on Tue, 5 days ago to clear them. Another day of food focus.

I dropped by a new coffee shop below. This area used to be a field the last I remember it to be. I got a shock to see this new building here. What a change in a short period.

This coffee shop is located in the new building where a field used to be.

I walked to the side of the building and shouted my order to the pork noodle stall. Then I stand under the hot sun across the road to wait for my order to be ready.

This is the pork stall.
Closed up of the stall. They offer 4 choices: freshly cooked, dry, bitter gourd or yellow glutinous rice wine. I selected yellow glutinous rice wine with all pork innards meehoon small portion to go.

The pork innards yellow glutinous rice wine soup. We kept the Mee hoon in the fridge for the next day. After he drank this soup, his face turned red and he felt his face kind of burning. Need to wash it to cool down.

I ordered all innards so there are slices of kidney which I don't eat. Can you see them in the photo above? There are also pieces of napa cabbages in the soup.

Located at the same building is this Nice to CU shop. There are people queuing to go in. I wonder what shop it is. He told me it is a popular Korean shop. I have yet to google to find out what it is.

  2. Wearing one mask already make me sweaty. I tried double mask once, so damn hot. Phew. Hardly can breath some more.

But no choice at this time. Double protection with 1 dusposable and 1 cloth mask.

I now mostly go out tapau breaakfast as lesser people in morning. Cook more at home or once a week, I oder food delivery.

    1. Yes very hot to wear masks so dunno how frontliners can tahan wearing full PE. To relieve boredom it is good to alternate between home cook, tapao and food delivery. Yes you are right, go tapao only go into the shops when got very few people inside to lessen the probability. Stay safe! 🙏

  5. No choice but to follow the sop. We only go out for morning walk with hardly anybody around. The few walkers we pass by also keep to their safe distance. We usually tapau for breakfast but not everyday. Only 1 person will get down to order takeaway. There is enough in the house to last me another 2 weeks.

    1. As long as not in enclosed air conditioned area and everyone wears masks, should be ok.

  6. Good SOPs that you are adhering to. But are the ones behind your sticking to the 6-feet distancing as well?

    1. I try to go to places with very few people so no one is behind me n if there are and they are usually 3 feet apart because our gov sop is 1 metre which is 3 feet when some other countries say must be 2 metres which is 6 feet.

  8. Nice to CU shops are everywhere in Korea. I think they have more than 7-Elevens. The one in BU is quite disappointing and I prefer Family Mart.

    1. Oh I forgot. The only thing great was their spicy Teobokki which put my mouth on fire!

    2. Oh, so near your place in BU also got this CU shop already. Do they have 7-11 in Korea? I guess CU would have more items from Korea whereas Family Mart would have more items from Japan?

    3. I hope that they have non spicy teobokki cos I like to eat teobokki but cannot tahan spicy 🔥🥵
