Ju Yau Char

On Friday 15.sep.2023, we were expecting deliveries so didn't go to any malls but just went to ABC Temerloh eatery Happy Garden for brunch.

10.38 am - shared this Hainan iced coffee drink MYR 4.5 nett. His small curry Mee MYR 13.90 nett. The Mee is curly thin egg noodles which is easy to eat.

10.40 am - my small Lou shu fen seafood stirfry MYR 18.9 nett. It is on the sweet side with two prawns and 3 pieces of squid. As it is a small portion, both of us managed to eat all the food we ordered with no difficulty.

10.39 am - he ordered this small plate of ju Yao char aka deep fried lard MYR 3 nett and took most of them home in my container. The foc sambal dip is very flavourful with tiny pieces of dried shrimps in sourish salty sambal.

Total price is MYR 40.3 nett.

Will be back to try these 3 types of signature noodles.

He requested me to buy takeaway chapfan no rice from Golden Chopsticks coffee shop while he waited in the car. For MYR 10 nett, I bought minced meat patty, omelette, 3 pieces of braised chicken and broccoli cauliflower capsicum for his dinner.

  1. For RM10, it is a good deal... should be full enough even without rice.

    1. That is the idea of eating chapfan with no rice.

  2. As I know, it's a slow and oily process to make deep fried lard. Might as well buy if want only a small quantity.

    1. My spouse has make deep fried lard a few times but I don't know whether it is a slow process or not. Definitely oily because he will have a whole bowl of pork oil which he uses to fry eggs and cook other food next time.
