Wild Basil

On Friday 7.apr.2023, went to Pavilion Bukit Jalil for our lunch.

1.08 pm - Fish and chips MYR 17.90 nett from Wild Basil stall in Food Republic Food court at Pavilion Bukit Jalil. I like that the coleslaw is cold to balance the fish and chips which are still hot from the fryer. The chips taste creamy instead of powdery so I like them too.

I am not sure what fish it is. The fish fillet is lightly coated in batter. The fish meat is flaky and naturally sweet so it tastes good.

Stall 8 at the Food Republic Food Court. The name displayed at this stall is Wild Basil.

Wild Basil kiosk is next to the Ayam Penyet stall.

We ate our favourite mihun at Oriental Kopi to use up the MYR 5 e-voucher we received when joining their loyalty program.

Total price after using the discount e-voucher is MYR 30.60 nett.

On the way home, stopped by a new Nanyang Cafe at Esplanade but they say they are not opened for business yet. Will only start to serve customers at 5 pm so we went to Taiwan braised meat eatery in Sri Petaling to buy trotter less rice at about MYR 15 ish. He ate one third of it and kept the remaining food in the fridge for another day.

  1. Wish we have Oriental Kopi chain here.

The fish and chip looked good, so generous with fries.

    1. Hopefully oriental kopi will open some outlets in east msia. Yes the fish and chips taste good. You are right, the amount of fries is a lot.

  2. Often fish and chips come with only tartar sauce, not balanced at all.

    1. Most will give a bit of salad or coleslaw. In UK, they give mushy peas which I like a lot.

    2. I never understood mushy peas. Though they are better than minted peas - now that one I really cannot!
