New Look

Din Tai Fung at the Gardens Mall has reopened for business after renovation. They moved the open kitchen to the other end like the above photo. It used to look like this. We ordered the dishes below to share because I was still full at that time.

Despite how it looks in this photo, this bowl of beef la mian (noodle) is very tasty. The chunky beef pieces are very tender with tendon in the beef. There are two pieces of beef tendons - MYR18

Stir Fried Nai Pak - MYR15

We also ordered a cup of hot tea (MYR2.50) and as the hot tea is refillable, I don't feel nice not ordering any drinks so I ordered a cup of iced tea (MYR2.50) when normally I won't order any drinks.

Service Charge: 10%
Govt. Tax: 6%
Total Bill: MYR44.10 (2 pax)

    1. Not spicy at all. The red colour did not come from any chilli.

    1. The price here is similar to restaurants like han room, canton-i and etc so I think it is ok to eat here.

    1. It is not spicy at all. The red is not from chili but from some other chinese herbs I guess.

    1. If I don't order any drink they may think I am taking advantage of my spouse's refillable drink.

    1. Not refillable drinke can be shared but refillable drink if shared means you are taking advantage of the system.

    2. But I only drink little bit... hahaha. I figure chinese tea or soft drinks don't cost much anyway!

    3. It is just a matter of principle not a matter of price. :)

    1. I prefer the old look. I think restaurants like this usually have this kind of price for the vege.

  12. I love this restaurant very much. I know it is quite costly but I don't mind paying for delicious food & good services. I have this habit of ordering iced water instead and that easily saves me more than RM10-20 for 2 persons.
