Cry Over Spilt Milk

On Monday 11.oct.21 at 8.45 am, the two siblings performed their filial piety commitments by having 3 of them consult a cardiologist at an affordable private hospital in PJ whereby the cardiologist confirms that there is nothing to be done except to continue taking a lower dosage of blood thinner and monitoring the readings daily at MYR 181.25 inclusive of SST.

*** Food ***

12.56 noon - This is the remaining mutton pot from last Friday stored in the fridge. I removed all the solidified oil and will keep eating it for a few days until I can finished this dish.

1.05 pm - my lunch of more vegetables in remaining curry broth from a curry noodles dish on Sunday, food items from the mutton pot and some Mee hoon from his morning breakfast.

12.22 noon - his lunch of marmite meat, egg and rice.

12.19 noon - there is split soup in the plastic bag.

12.18 noon - the soup spilled from this container. Only one third remains.

11.42 am - Yan's Kitchen should think of other ways to store their soup for delivery because the soup was also spilled the previous time when we ordered for the elderlies' lunch. It is impossible for any riders to deliver the soup intact with the way it was packed.

Previously, we didn't report it because we didn't take any photos. This time we reported it to Foodpanda and received a discount e-voucher. I wonder Foodpanda will penalise which party - the eatery or the rider.

7.13 am - his breakfast from Madam Lin's stall ordered the day before.

4.36 pm - his dinner for the day. Ordered after 3 pm to make use of the taptapeat promo code which is only effective after 3 pm.

  1. Marmite chicken, egg and rice looks yums. It is difficult to deliver soup in that type of container.

    1. The marmite meat egg rice is yums. Other eateries will wrap the container with cling film.

  2. Elderly have to eat less oily food. And frequent monitoring too.
Oh my, that is a lot of spilling. Alternatively packed in plastic bag instead of the plastic container. True, the outlet should reconsider the storing of the soup.

    1. Depends how oily is oily. By right, everyone should eat less oil but most people think less oil is not tasty. Plastic bag is better than plastic container in storing soup from what I have experienced.

  3. Some restaurants wrap the soup container with cling wrap to secure it and it does work. I love marmite chicken so I would enjoy the marmite meat.

    1. I also like the taste of marmite meat be it fish or chicken. Yes, cling wrap does work.

  4. They will penalise the restaurant. Have seen complaints before from restaurants about the high-handed manner foodpanda deducts from them. But in this case justified since is the packer's fault. If they cannot pack it properly then cannot sell via delivery.

I have ordered coffee before which had 80% left so I didn't complain. Just the other items were messy with the spilled coffee - just the packaging of them lah, not the contents.

    1. Ya, if other eateries can packed it without spillage, this eatery should be able to do it. So far all the coffee I bought via Foodpanda are ok, no spillage. So this eatery better improve rather than keep getting penalised. Waste of the good soup to be spilled like that.

  5. i had green curry spilt in my Chai Thai order on last month. It is the container lid that wasn't closed well by the restaurant worker. We got our refund and voucher. Only 20% gravy left in the container after the spill.

  7. Sometimes spilled a bit especially with big amount. Mutton and chicken marmite sounds good. Wonder too penalise by which party.

    1. Spill a bit is still acceptable but spill more than half then is not acceptable. I hope just penalise the eatery and not the rider since the eatery should buy more suitable containers for soup delivery.
