I always like my hokkien mee to have extra chue yau char.. Sedapp.. When we go eat tai chau, we sure order hokkien mee.. Wat tan hor also we always order, becoz of the kids.. Eggy (starchy) gravy I like..
That wat tan hor really too over lah, the gravy supposed to be smooth and silky, not over the top sticky. But like you, I will still probably finish it. Can't get decent wat tan hor here, except for a few places that is inconvenient for me to go every time >.<
I've been to this Taste Enclave in Avenue K once.. don't get me wrong, I've been to this mall many times (because it's just at the LRT station) but I've only went to reki-reki this food court once..
a very nice place with all the nice interior decor and designs.. but I would say things are expensive.. maybe the "upscale" is cost in.. that explains why I just reki-reki once, not even bought anything to eat there!! haha~~ :p
yeah, I saw this Sentul Ah Yap stall and there's a queue in front.. maybe one day we can go to their "HQ" in Sentul and give their hokkien mee a try too huh??
Yes, I've heard of this Sentul Ah Yap Fried Hokkien Mee (haven't tried it yet). I was there just last Sat but ate some other food (post coming up soon). For now, my latest post: http://eatwhateatwhere.blogspot.com/2014/10/enak-kl-starhill-gallery.html
Yalor, last time I was working in that area also face this issue. I ate in the other end food court in KLCC suria which is a tiny bit cheaper (not the middle one).

I think have to try it at the original outlet.
DeleteIt's been a while since I had Hokkien Mee. Feel like eating soon :)
ReplyDeleteWith or without the lard?
DeleteAha this was my lunch haunt. I also recommend the charsiew and siu yok rice. Also the beef noodle. Vegetarian stall too.
ReplyDeleteMighty expensive wor.
DeleteWhat to do, KLCC area. Sometimes lazy to walk for cheaper food, sometimes weather is very hot. The charsiew is really good though.

DeleteI like Hokkien mee, the darker the better, hehehe!
ReplyDeleteSo you like this too! :)
DeleteI like wat tan hor with eggy gravy...I will finish it until the last drop!
ReplyDeleteI don't think you will like this one though.
DeleteWe were here once after our visit to that dinosaur place. I can't remember what we ate, I think the chicken rice... not too great though :(
ReplyDeleteI think I saw the roast meat stall has chicken rice. Should be that one.
