Once upon a time...

My spouse and I cooked almost all of our meals when we were living in UK because eating out was very, very expensive.

I even skinned a whole chicken as my photos above. To make it interesting, I did my best to keep the whole skin and whole chicken intact. I did it by looking up instructions on how to skin a chicken online. I like my chicken soup to be not so oily therefore the skin and fat must go.

Now, I no longer cook as I do not like to cook. After 4 years of cooking, I have had enough so now I eat out for all my meals.

    1. No masterpiece dishes. I just put the whole skinless chicken into the pot with chinese herbs to boil chicken soup after that.

    1. I agree very difficult to cook when reach home late and tired. Thanks for the compliments but I am sure you can do this too but no need la as chicken seller in wet market can do this for us here.

  4. Amazing! I'd probably destroy the whole chicken if I tried doing that. My missus will get the seller to remove the skin when she buys any - so our chicken always looks so...naked. :( LOL!!!

  5. haha!! let me be frank but at first it really looks a little scary seeing the skin and the chicken!!! hehe.. so when you were there, you were not working and had more time to spend in the kitchen huh?? and yes, I agree with you that it would be more economical if you cook at home there..

  6. oh, so you don't cook at all now but eat out every meal?? not even an occasional meal at home once in a blue moon?? I thought your spouse may miss your cooking once in a while, or never at all?? but I have to say, if you are only cooking for two, I mean in Malaysia, it may be cheaper if you settle outside.. :)

    1. Here it is still cheaper to eat out than cook for two. Furthermore we did not equip our house now with a kitchen.

  8. I do cook...but I definitely cannot skin a chicken like that (nor chop one)! I usually get the chicken seller to chop it into pieces for me and I just tear off the skin when I get home. Mmmm....people pay good money for fried chicken skin :D

    1. Here it is easy to get seller at wet market to process the chicken the way we want it. Really? I did not know that the skin is worth anything at all.

  12. Mun, I never buy a whole chicken back home because I am no good in butchering chicken. Normally i just get the respective parts of the chicken which has been packed nicely.hahha

    1. In uk it is so much cheaper to buy a whole chicken than by parts. My actions are guided by economic reasons.

  14. Actually, I don't like cooking too. I just make myself do it most of the time. Maybe that's why most of my experiments turn out ugly, the food can feel my lack of passion and love :/

    1. And, for someone who dislikes cooking, you superpower lah. I doubt there are very many accomplished cooks/chefs can skin a chicken like you did :D

    2. I like the food you cook because I don't like oily food with sauces. So I gotta salute you for cooking when you don't like to do so.

    3. Ah they sure can but here they would ask the seller to do it unless they want a whole skinless chicken intact then have to do it themselves cos the seller would just chopped up the chicken before skinning it. I find cooking boring so I did this to have some fun only.

  16. Wow, you are very pro in skinning chickens! :) Same like you, I HATE cooking too but I don't have the privilege to eat out every day because I have a little one to take care of and I have to ensure that she eats well...
