Somehow we ended up eating here one day. Chinese spinach (yin choy), spinach (bo choy), pumpkin with a little rice beneath all the vegetables - MYR3.50 only.
This is the vegetarian economy rice shop that serves really cheap food because it is operated by Buddhists. This outlet is located at Kuchai Entrepreneur Park, off Jalan Kuchai Lama (same row as Tangkak Beef noodle shop) so if anyone wants to eat only vegetables then this is the place. They also serve those "fake meat" which is actually made from vegetables like the stalk of mushrooms or soya products.
I like spinach and pumpkin.. But if you take me to a vegetarian rice shop, I'd take mostly those fake meats.. More attractive, instead of just greens..
ReplyDeleteBecause you like to eat meat mah! Hehehe!
Deleteyin choy, bo choy, all look the same to me, hahaha!! =]
ReplyDeleteBut they taste very different! :)
DeleteI will try my best to stay away from those fake meat when I go vegetarian. Except for the vegetarian char siew, and vegetarian goose, and vegetarian lamb curry, and... I'm not very good at this LOL!
ReplyDeleteThere's 2 vegetarian zhap fan places near my home in KL that my family frequents. One charges RM2 per plate regardless of what you take + whatever you wish to top up if you so wish to. Another one charges based on weight, you weigh the empty plate first, then take your food, then weigh the plate again to get the food weight, and pay RM1.50 per 100g of food, for me it usually goes to RM3-something or RM4-something.
The two you mentioned must be operated by Buddhists to get good karma since they charge so cheap.
DeleteOooo...pumpkin! I like! I like this kind of vegetarian - not those that make imitation fried chicken, burgers and all those.
ReplyDeleteThis place does sell those fake meat dishes but I don't choose those.
Deletelooks good wor....hmm ...where is the shop ya? off Jalan Kuchai Lama is so big place....in taman lian hoe? Taman Pagar ruyong? Near KFC?....keen to try.
ReplyDeleteKuchai entrepreneur park lah. Same row as Tangkak beef but at the far end, nearer to drunken cat restaurant.
DeleteLong time I did not have any vegetarian food. Used to go once a week in my previous employment.
ReplyDeleteNow not convenient to go is it with children having to eat too.
Deletevegetarian for lunch would be a good alternatives.. after having so many meats, i guess it's good to have more veggie to flush down the fats huh?? haha.. but then when it comes to vegetarian, i don't know others but for myself only, i actually prefer real veggie than those veggie version of meats, i.e. "fake meat" you mentioned.. no problem for things like mushroom stalks, but those made with lots of flour and coloring resembling drumsticks, char siew etc - no thank you..
ReplyDeleteI also only eat vege vege when at places like this.
DeleteI do like to eat vegetables (unlike my favourite chef Anthony Bourdain).....just not quite vegetarian food (especially those 'mock' types except one...the mock duck...hehe!).
ReplyDeleteMost people like the mock duck meat.
DeleteI do enjoy vegetarian food once in a while. Oh...I see pumpkins on your plate!
ReplyDelete3 big pieces of them! :)
Deleteso much veggies till i cannot see the rice...haha
ReplyDeleteanyhow, i like greens...i can eat greens like a cow....oppss i mean green leafy veggies, not green grass.
Good to know you like to get green leafy vegetables too!
DeleteI have been there and they have good dishes! My wife is a full time vegetarian woman!
ReplyDeleteI salute your wife! Though I eat less meat but I still can't totally not eat them at all.
