Pop Corn Food Hall Midvalley

This used to be the Oasis Food Court in Midvalley Mall. Now it is Pop Corn Food Hall.

PopCorn stands for Popular Corner as stated by the words below the signboard. Many stalls have started operating in this food court with some familiar names such as Damansara Uptown Hokkien Mee, Prawn Noodle King and Lan Je Tilapia.

The dishes in this menu look good. Please click on the menus in this post for a larger image.

They have 3 types of broth with many types of noodles to select from. I will try the tomato and bitter gourd broth one day.

My friend ordered the signature pork noodle and added kidney and blood cubes for a total of MYR 17.30 nett.

My friend said the clear broth tastes good with the taste of wine. There are many thin strips of ginger to balance the heavy taste of the kidney and blood cubes.

For me, I am more interested in Lan Je Tilapia since I have been wanting to try the fish here after reading about Lan Je Tilapia, Ipoh in Claire's post back in Aug, 2016.

The set meals for 2 pax have reasonable price and offer a selection of steamed or deep fried tilapia fish.

The ala carte menu. I think I will try both the steamed and fried tilapia fish eventually.

One steamed medium fish for me at MYR 21.90 nett.

I requested for no dark sauce, just the ginger toppings but I think they forgot to inform the kitchen staff so I did not make a fuss. The standard sized table spoon next to the fish shows that the size is about 8 inches in length.

The fish is fresh but there are just too many fine bones to be removed while eating the fish so I don't think I will eat this again after trying the fried version.

  2. Change of management perhaps. I wonder if they still have the same stalls there - I did enjoy the food at some of them.

  5. The pork noodle soup your friend ordered looks good. I love kidney but have never tried blood cubes. As for fresh water fish, no thanks due to all those bones!

    1. Oh, you must try some blood cubes then to see whether you like them or not but must choose some good places to have them and not those not nice ones.

  7. Same concept as Lot 10's Hutong hor... get famous stalls into a mall food court. People are happy paying a few extra ringgit for the convenience and comfort.

    1. The prices here are lower than the prices in the other existing food courts in Midvalley except for one food court at Lower Ground near Simple Life.
