Oh Or Chien

Oyster Omelette - MYR21.2 (large portion), can be shared by 2 or 3 persons. The small oysters are juicy fresh and are just added on top of the omelette (egg and a mixture of flour - tapioca flour, rice flour, sweet potato flour). The omelette has a very crispy exterior and only a little inner parts are gooey due to the mixture of flour. You may find it a bit on the oily side so it is best eaten when it is still warm.

Bought it from this Thye Hong stall in Pavilion's Food Republic food court. They will cook a big batch of omelette and serve your dish from there so your dish is not individually prepared from scratch but the omelette is still warm when you get it.

No service charge but 6% GST applies. This serving can last me a lifetime so I won't be returning for more or chien here.

  3. I love that. Used to eat that a lot in Penang. Thye Hong reminds me of...cream crackers.

    1. Thye Hong hawker stall is famous in Singapore. You are right, there is a biscuit brand called Thye Hong too.

    1. Guess you do not like to eat oh chien as much as the other noodles at the same stall.

  6. I love or chien too... this is a different style of cooking! Instead of being embedded in the omelette, the oysters are on top.. nice!!

  7. Oh, I didn't know this place serves oh chien....must go and try...but then not cooked individually doesn't sound as enticing. Hopefully, there's a smaller plate than the RM20 one!

    1. Yes, there is an option for a smaller portion. When I was there, they were cooking a new batch so I had to wait for quite sometime and mine was piping hot.

    1. I ate this before I went to Penang (decided to post about food in Penang before this) so I did not eat this in Penang even though I saw them selling it in both Pisa and You Yuen Fen food courts but the price for a large plate is also quite expensive - around MYR12 and above if I am not mistaken.
