Golden Egg Crunch

Deep fried chicken coated with salted egg yolk - 5 of us wanted to try this but they do not sell ala carte 5 pieces so I ended up with the most-value-for-money package:

KFC Golden Feast - MYR40 ++ (MYR42.40) - 9 pieces of chicken, 1.5L pepsi (keeping this for CNY to make pepsi ice cream floats), 1 large coleslaw and 1 large mashed potatoes.

Everyone ate one piece and left me with 4 extra pieces for lunch and dinner the next day and the day after next. Very crunchy, a bit spicy, the taste of curry leaves is very strong which I like and just a little bit of salted egg yolk taste. I think I can stay off deep fried chicken for the rest of the year now.

    Eh first time I see leh.. Didn't see it in newspaper or TV geh.. I think I will like it coz of the salted egg yolk but I don't think they will have a heavy taste of the egg yolk..

      Thurs 28 Jan 2016 Sun has a small write up on this. Very light egg yolk taste but you can detect it.

    I saw the advertisement yesterday and was wondering about it. Want to try or not. Hehe. My kids not into KFC so I forgot when was the last time I stepped into the outlet.

    oh i didn't know they have this Golden Egg fried chicken!! it looks attractive to me.. i just went to their website and took a look, hahahaha, they have the usual snack plate, perhaps i may give that a try.. but hmmm, very little hamdan wong taste ah?? i can see little patches of yellow on the chicken in your photo, are those salted egg yolks??

      I think so. The snack plate price is cheaper during lunch and dinner hours.

    I heard the advertisement over radio, the name sounds glamorous, but then they said it is ham dan wong, no thanks, now need to control diet sempena CNY! :D

    I just had this (in a burger without cheese) on Monday and (surprisingly) liked it...it was fragrant with a bit of salted egg yolk taste. The next time, I'd ask them to leave out the mayo too (they put way too much). If you can only eat 1 pc of chicken, you could have opted for this instead...just eat the deboned chicken thigh without the bun...kekeke!!

      If my friends ordered a barrel, they would want you in their group...no-one to fight with them for the drumstick and thigh...and you can have all the breast meat you want...hahaha!
