My work lunch gang decided to eat Chicken Tandoori and Cheese Naan (flatbread) so we walked to a nearby mamak restaurant. I wanted my vegetables so I ate the following plate of "chap fan" (rice with a few selected dishes). The stir fried cabbage and beansprouts were the only vegetable dishes available at that time (a little before 12noon).
Mutton curry, beansprouts, cabbage and a little rice - MYR6 - the mutton cubes were tender so they were quite tasty.
Mutton curry looks good. I like :D
ReplyDeleteAh so you like it too. ;)
DeleteMy favorite mutton curry if I eat rice at mamak. But not cheap.. One fried chicken, mutton curry and vege cost RM10.. But I eat it only once a while la..
ReplyDeleteShould be that price since 2 meat dishes. Once in a while really ok punya to eat like this.
DeleteOooo...my girl would love this! She will always ask for mutton bryani, nothing else.
ReplyDeleteMutton briyani is nicer. :)
DeleteMamak's vegetables not exactly that healthy also. They are all cooked with lots of oil and spices. The only reason I have them is because they are cheaper than all meat fare >.<
ReplyDeleteI eat vege for the fiber only. If really care about the oil then can only eat self cooked food with extra virgin oil like you do. Did you know about the gutter oil scandal oversea? Google for it if you don't. Dunno here affected or not.
DeleteRampant lah, just that it has never been an issue. I know majority of the Chinese hawkers regularly buy their cooking oil from the fast food chains, those oil that were previously used to deep fry the fries and nuggets and whatnot. Those oil are cheap, and already has fast food fragrance, will make the food more delicious.
DeleteActually, the safest meals in terms of cooking oil are those from Malay eateries.
The gutter oil is not just recycled oil but oil that is unfit for human consumption.
Deleterice with mutton curry, beansprout and cabbage and that's just RM6, not exoensive at all.. seeing you had mutton curry, I guess some other places would have already charge more than that just for that little bit of mutton curry.. @.@"
ReplyDeleteYa lucky not expensive.
DeleteI would have probably go for naan and chicken masala, haha!! :p
ReplyDeleteDunno here serves chicken masala or not.
DeleteWow... that is a lot of vege and curry too! Yummsss!! Mutton should be nice if the smell is not so strong...
ReplyDeleteMun, by the way, there is a SPAM above mine... I got lots of spams too but google automatically kicked them into a spam folder...
Thanks for spam warning. I like mutton taste stronger better. :D
DeleteI love mutton curry. Won't say no to that!
ReplyDeleteSame same here. :)
DeleteMmmmn!! Yummy!! I like that mutton curry with cabbage. They make good combo to eat.
ReplyDeleteI went to China so many times and realised I don't have a real Chinese heart & cravings for their food. I missed our Malaysian food instead.
Home is best!
DeleteToo.Much.Veggie. Hehehe. But very healthy lah.
ReplyDeleteGot fiber la.
DeleteOk. RM6 for a platr of chap fan. I love mutton curry. Can have it anytime.
ReplyDeleteMe too. :)
DeleteRM6 is not bad considering there is mutton dish....so is this a mamak restaurant? the veggie looks clear leh...normally mamak tends to stir-fry cabbage with some dried chillis
ReplyDeleteyes it is a mamak restaurant.
DeleteI don't eat mutton, but I don't mind if it's curry chicken, hehehe!
ReplyDeleteSo beef and mutton both you cannot eat.
