1. Stir fried bok choy 2. Stir fried sweet potato leaves 3. Potatoes and chicken breast meat in curry with rice - MYR5.70 - a bit on the oily side for the stir fried veges but I am not complaining due to the price.
Once I went to another eatery and had nasi lemak (coconut milk rice) and I wanted to eat something green so I went to this eatery after my nasi lemak meal just to eat veges and selected 2 dishes - 1. Four-angled bean 2. Snake bean and the price was MYR2 only.
1. Bitter Gourd 2. Lettuce 3. Some sort of Beans (don't know which type) 4. One potato and one piece of chicken breast meat in curry - MYR5.50 - somehow of all the meat dishes available, I am only attracted to the chicken and potato curry dish.
1. Chinese Spinach (Yin Choy) 2. Water convolvulus (Kang Kong) 3. A piece of chicken breast meat in soy sauce - MYR5 - the usual chicken and potato curry was not available on this day so I chose another chicken dish.
There was rice underneath all the veges and egg. 1.Bitter gourd 2. Napa cabbage (Wong Nga Pak) 3. Chinese Spinach (Yin Choy) 4. Steamed egg - MYR5.5 - I find the steamed egg very, very salty, and then only found out it is steamed SALTED eggs - that explained the extreme saltiness of this steamed egg.
1. Broccoli and cauliflower (this dish is not available every day) 2. Chinese spinach 3. Chicken and potato curry - MYR5 only.
1. Chicken and potato curry 2. Hard boiled egg 3. Bok Choy 4. Capsicum, baby corn, broccoli, cauliflower - MYR5.90 due to the additional egg. I felt I needed more protein on this day.
1. Bok Choy 2. Water cress 3. Chicken and potato curry 4. Pumpkin with dried shrimp - MYR6.30 - the pumpkin dish is really delicious.
1. chicken and potato curry 2. Hardboiled egg 3. Broccoli and mushroom 4. Chinese spinach (Yin Choy) - MYR5.60 only. The rice was hidden beneath the veges.
Long queue due to the cheap price.
Not air-conditioned so you get pretty sweaty when you take too long to finish your meal. No hanging around to chat after your meal.

Steamed salted egg is new to me. I dont think I've ever come across that.
ReplyDeletei've only tried steamed egg with salted egg, never steam salted egg itself..
DeleteI also never thought that it would be salted eggs. If I knew then I would not have taken it. It was extremely salty, not nice to eat at all.
DeleteAhhhh!!!! Cheaper! Looks nicer too.
ReplyDeleteMore selection of veges too.
DeleteYa ya ya this is the place! Quite far to cross over from CP but this place is cheap, so we usually follow the crowd.. Most of the time it's in Commons though..
ReplyDeleteHehehe. I think CP tower is in between Phileo 1 and 2 so both should be equal distance.
DeleteAh, the owner is an enlightened businessman. No need to bother with pressuring the customers to leave quickly, just make it uncomfortable for them to linger. Then can have more servings and more money.
ReplyDeleteyes, I think service is the most important thing to me in an eatery..
DeleteIf put in air-cons, sure the price of the food will be increased.
Deleteoh, chap fan is surely one very common thing we have for lunch and dinner.. for me who likes variety, I would be very happy if I see there are lots of choices for me (though also in a situation that too many that I can't decide what to take).. so chap fan is one thing I like about the variety of dishes offered..
ReplyDeletebut nowadays chap fan is also not that "economy" already, can be easily RM6-RM7, and I'm lucky that there's still a place near my house which I can get a plate with 1 meat, 1 veggie and 1 non-meat (my usual combination) at RM5 average, considered good already..
actuslly chap fan to me is something like having a few cooked dishes at home with rice, it's thst common, so I don't mind that almost everyday, almost I mentioned.. :)
I agree that chap fan is like having a few cooked dishes at home. How much is the chap fan near your office?
DeleteWah, lots of veggies in your plate! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhenever I see veggies, I get overexcited so my hands automatically take more than I should I guess.
DeleteI do that too! Have pork when able to, that is. Not that I'm a big fan, just want variety when the usual is halal food. At my current project everyone eats in the canteen, which is halal of course.
ReplyDeleteUsually I don't take pork unless it is those chinese style pak kuat wong. I like this place because there is a huge variety of veggies.
DeleteHigh 5. When I go for economy rice, vegetables dominate! My better half always worry I don't have enough money to buy meat.hahahah
ReplyDeleteHigh 5! Sure got many to buy meat but I think women don't need to eat so much meat as men. Oops, hope I did not get into trouble for gender generalization.
DeleteI see that you love your veggies. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :D
Deletei like green leafy veggies too...but usually I will go for a variety of different color dishes...more colourful more appetite!
ReplyDeleteNormally chapfan dishes are either brown (meat) or green (veggies), hehehe.
DeleteAdoi..can't even see the rice. Bananaz have not reached that level yet very usual with RM4-4.50 only over three dishes with very little meat.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, I always ask for less, lesser rice. Where is your chap fan stall? Why so cheap?
DeleteMy office area the mixed rice also around this price, I felt quite okay with it also!!! =]
ReplyDeleteThen should be considered cheap. The other eateries with chapfan in this office complex has prices above 6.
DeleteMUN!! The dishes really overpowered the rice already... Yes, considered cheap here... Ipoh still have cheap chap farn.. it varies from RM3 onwards.... anyway, cannot compare cos gaji in KL is higher, right? Over here in Ipoh, salaries are lower ...
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, sorry I shocked you. My hands will go into auto mode and keep taking vegetables when the prices are cheap.
DeleteReally? Is gaji in KL higher ah? I don't really know.
Wah so many plates of chap fan! The 'liu' all covered the rice already :p
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I took very little rice so that's why the veggies can easily cover the rice. :)
DeleteLove those green veggies, can't find some of them here especially four angled bean, my favorite. Tired of eating raw veggies here.
ReplyDeleteFour angled beans with sambal is yummy! Western usually just eat leafy raw salad or grilled or roasted vegetables. Seldom stir fried veggies I guess.
DeleteI miss the variety of economical rice. Mun, your food choices are very healthy! *thumbs up*
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteWhat an interesting choice of food you had. Steamed salted egg sounds very nice to me. I love mixed rice and always eat at the one inside Damansara Uptown which has a very long buffet of cheap dishes.
ReplyDeleteMay I know the name of the mixed rice shop in Damansara Uptown?
