Smoked Salmon Poke Bowl

On Wednesday 6.jul.22, we stayed at home and ordered two shopeefood deliveries.

*** Salad Atelier Sri Petaling ***

4 pm - smoked salmon poke bowl from Salad Atelier Sri Petaling with added one hard boiled egg and added scrambled eggs. I chose brown rice instead of lettuce as the base.

The scrambled eggs have butter in them so he thinks he got a slight mild allergic reaction of his throat feeling lumpy after eating the scrambled eggs.

The default ingredients are raw baby tomatoes, pickled jellyfish, one pickled red tiny octopus only, smoked salmon, half an avocado, edamame, pickled seaweed, raw cucumbers and raw lettuce. They also provide a small tub of onion miso soy sauce dressings even though I wrote a note to say I don't want any dressings. Needless to say I didn't use the dressings and now I need to think how to use the dressings for other food instead of throwing it away.

Comparison of size with the bottle.

I wonder how much is the walk-in Price. After adding on two items, the price is MYR 34.40 and after deducting all discounts and shopee coins redemption, the price inclusive of delivery is MYR 22.33 nett. I believe for smoke salmon, it is expected to be in this price range.

*** Fat Boy Coffee shop Kuchai Lama ***

11 am - his lunch of pork spinach noodles.

Bought two packs of pork noodles: one is pork spinach noodles herbal soup and one is pork mihun soup for his breakfast the next day.

After all discounts and shopee coins redemption, the total price inclusive of delivery fees is MYR 15.10 nett only so this price is better than the walk-in Price I would think.

  1. I wonder how these eateries and the delivery rider make money when the price is better than walk-in...hmmmm...

    1. Delivery rider should be paid the same. Eateries may take lower margin. Platform just treat it as marketing expenses.

  2. I was thinking the same thing too, Nux, sometimes I ordered from Grab, the total was so much cheaper than eating in the shop. This morning I ordered a packet of Hakka noodles with condiments inside and 5 pieces of stuffed fish paste with vegetables.. all in plus delivery was only RM14..

  4. Not cheap also the poke bowl. I'd be happy to get prices better than walk in. Guess the shortfall comes from the app as a promo to get more people to use it, and comes from the commission they charge the shops.

    1. I believe in order to buy all the ingredients and make the poke bowl at home, it is more expensive and must do a lot especially to buy the red little octopus, cannot just buy one.
