Mung Bean Mochi

Mid of this year, I went for a 2-days trip to Taipei and as usual I must stop by my favourite dessert shop which is 雙連圓仔湯 (Shuāng lián yuán zǐ tāng).

As with my previous trips, I bought a prepacked savoury snack with skin made from glutinous rice flour and Ramie Leaves (粗叶) which gives it the greenish hue but with different fillings.

Instead of shredded radish fillings like before, this time I chose mung bean fillings which I find to be coarse and on the dry side. After eating this, I prefer the previous shredded radish fillings.

I ordered 4 toppings (added red kidney beans) instead of 3 (taro, lotus seed, peanut)  so the price is TWD 110 instead of TWD 100 and requested for syrup to be omitted from the ice shavings. The taste is just as good as it was back in 2014.

Total price for 3 items: TWD 205 (about MYR 28.50 nett at an exchange rate of TWD100:MYR13.90 ) shared by 2 pax.

  2. The ice shaving reminds me of Snowflakes here in Msia. Well at least to me it is the closest I can get as I have never been to Taiwan
