Fine Kuih Dining

From top clockwise: kuih lapis (layered cake) - MYR2.50 nett. Bingka ubi (tapioca) - MYR1.35 nett.  Sago kuih and red bean kuih - each is the same price as the bingka ubi. Each piece is quite small so by its size, its price is quite high.

Beef rendang nasi lemak - MYR13.75 nett. A bit too salty for me.

Hot teh tarik (less sweet and thick version - kau kau) and desserts of ice shavings. Ice desserts always save the day.

We will always eat at this place (Nyonya Colors) when we cannot decide on where to eat. Though the food is not as tasty as some other places but it is a safe place to eat as we know what we are getting.

  1. I find their price is a bit on the high side. The last I ate their laksa, the portion was small but pricey.

  2. Salty? But it looked really good, the nasi lemak. Wait till you see mine, almost similarly priced at a hotel cafe here - post on that in my blog tomorrow, I think. :(

Yes, I thought their kuehs were kinda expensive and not really anything to get excited about. Might as well buy those Lulu ones from one of the stalls/kiosks close by, they're not bad, more or less.

    1. I agree it will taste good and very flavourful to many people. Just that I prefer less salty food. Can't wait to read your hotel nasi lemak. Will buy some kuehs from Lulu to put here next time. I have eaten them a long time ago.

  6. I haven't tried Nonya Colors yet. Strange, eh? I always see the place packed with customers, so they must be good.

  8. Prices have been inching up while the size is going down. But yeah, I also quite like this place as at least the quality is maintained.

    1. So true. Just the other day, the noodles at my usual coffee shop has gone up by 50 cents per bowl.

  10. This place is our favourite breakfast and tea time meeting venue with any friends for light food and laughters. My Singaporean friends often praised their Bengawan Solo chain for selling Nyonya Kuehs until they ate this place and got blown away. LOLOL

    1. I only know that Bengawan Solo is an old song. Thanks for sharing that it is a food chain in Sg.
