Stingray

This was one of the set lunches I ate at BLU cafe at the Sphere, Bangsar South back in 2015 for MYR13.90 nett.

Curry stingray set lunch with a cup of barley drink. Comes with rice, cabbage, a piece of omelette and one piece of water melon.

Close up of the curry stingray with tomatoes and okras.

I scooped up two pieces of stingray

    1. The curry is too spicy for me so I ate the fish and vegetables in it only. Happy weekend to you too!

  3. 2015 again. After [Taiwan], now is [2015] theme huh...

I think in Penang, people rarely eat stingray like that in curry, they usually like their stingray barbecued in foil with asam or something.

    1. Here at grilling stalls, they sell stingrays marinated in assam grilled in foils too. Just found some 2015 photos that are worth remembering.

  4. OMG! This is very cheap for a yummy & generous set like this. I love curry stingray very much with its okra and bunga kantan!

I dunno where CL (RealGunners) get this theory that Penang folks rarely eat stingray in that curry. It was in Penang that I grew up eating them in many chap fan stalls. I need to bring him to tour around Penang. LOLOL

  5. Oooooo...my kind of cuisine. I love the stingray in Penang, their ikan bakar. The ones here, not nice - have that ammonia smell...like urine. Would never bother going for that here.

    1. I have encountered those with the ammonia smell before. Luckily this one does not have that off putting taste.

    1. It is very spicy so I just scoop out the stingray, tomato, and okra to eat them without the curry gravy.

  8. That curry pulls up the ranking of this a few notches! The other components look normal only.

    1. The stingray curry is the main dish, the other components are just side dishes.
