In this hot, hot weather, lunch on some days is just plain congee with half a salted hard boiled egg instead of eating spicy or deep fried food.
The meal above was bought from a neighbourhood mix rice (chap fan) coffee shop. The bowl of congee was MYR1.20 and the half salted egg was MYR0.80 making a total of MYR2 spent on lunch.
Nice! Go with luncheon meat also nice
ReplyDeleteThis chap fan stall does not sell luncheon meat.
DeleteBut I thought hot weather eat this even hotter?
ReplyDeleteCool food as compared to after you have eaten spicy food.
DeleteYes, porridge is great in this hot weather but I would need more than just half a salted egg. Hehehehehe!!!!
ReplyDeleteOne salted egg?
DeleteSweating thinking of eating porridge now. Haha.
ReplyDeleteIt is only luke warm, won't be sweating.
DeleteSalted egg is supposed to make things worse hahaha! I'd go for some bilis or lap cheong, bcz at least those would make me happy. :P
ReplyDeleteWhy would it make things worse as compared to eating spicy food.
DeleteThat was a very simple meal.
ReplyDeleteYes, simple.
DeleteAgree with you, I like plain porridge too when I don't know what to eat.. Eat with salted eggs or century eggs, luncheon meat, wah, sedappp..
ReplyDeleteI like to eat plain porridge with century eggs too.
DeleteOMG!!! I only ate like that when I was gravely ill. LOLOL
ReplyDeleteSo this is sick food for you.
DeleteNow unless that porridge has been left to cool, how can it help to cool you down? The last thing I will order in hot weather is porridge...
ReplyDeleteI mean cool down as compared to eating spicy food or deep fried food.
DeleteThis morning I took two big bowls at the buffet breakfast! I love porridge anytime!
ReplyDeleteYay! :)
DeleteI eat like this when I have no appetite.
ReplyDeleteI have no appetite during hot, hot weathers.
DeleteI prefer eating bittergourd and drink its soup to cool down ;-)
ReplyDeleteI like to eat bittergourd too.
DeleteMun, I love plain porridge with salted egg but if it is only salted egg, then I will need a whole egg for myself. Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteAh, same as STP, need one whole egg.
DeleteDid you boil this porridge yourself? Or buy it outside? If you bought, how much will it cost to eat like this?
ReplyDeleteBuy from chap fan stall. About MYR2.50 nett.
DeleteToday I went to the same stall and ask for the exact price. That bowl of porridge is MYR1.20 and that half salted egg is MYR0.80 so total is MYR2.
Deletehmmm, I thought hot hot weather should have something cold cold one instead of porridge, hehe!
ReplyDeleteThis bowl of porridge is not hot, room temperature only.
DeleteSometimes I put the porridge into the fridge and eat them ice cold.
