Next to Rakuzen is "Beauty in a Pot" steamboat from SG which is still undergoing renovations.
Wendy which closed in March 2019 has been replaced by EATZ Hong Kong at the Gardens Mall.
Meanwhile, one of my regular eatery Zun Express (Midvalley Mall) has now closed to be replaced by two eateries - Manjoe Taiwanese Dumplings and Yayoi Japanese Restaurant.
I am surprised to see a new kiosk, Soyya next to Isaac Toast (Gardens Mall). Soyya which sells a variety of soy based drinks took over the space that used to be occupied by a Juice operator. It has a small dining area next to it which I don't think is necessary since it only sells drinks.
Soyya kiosk even installed these three futuristic looking three cylinders filled with soy beans with back lighting as decorations to attract customers.
From Midvalley/Gardens Mall to Starling Mall on last Sunday, I wanted to eat the salmon set lunch which I enjoyed eating only to find that Bonfire has closed. PH also mentioned that Bonfire has closed a few days ago.
Since there is no salmon set lunch to be had, we ate snacks at Nam Heong, Starling Mall. Bought 6 egg tarts and kept 3 for other days because there is a bulk discount for buying 6. The cold Vintage Nan Yang Coffee C drink is very tasty!
Total price for snacking for 2 pax is MYR 24 nett.
My sis always frequent Beauty in a pot at Genting Highlands whenever she goes Genting.
ReplyDeleteyes there is a branch there. You could always go to SG branches.
DeleteEgg tarts look perfect! These are bad times, sad times - so many shops closing down.
ReplyDeleteI believe those shops that closed down didn't manage to have get what their target customers want.
DeleteClosure seems like a familiar thing happening. I also bought 6 egg tarts when Nam Heong was having the promotion.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a bulk purchase discount for 6 egg tarts which is ongoing without any time limit stated for now.
DeleteEgg tarts!! Wish we have Nam Heong over here.
ReplyDeleteHonolulu cafe egg tarts are also tasty!
DeleteI like Nam Heong iced coffee.
ReplyDeletethey have a few types. wonder if it is the same as the one I had.
DeleteOh I shall miss Zun Express (though I go to MV only 1-2 times a year? hehe). To me, Japanese food is broadly similar.
ReplyDeleteI will miss Zun Express too. I wonder where they are moving to because their business is good as far as I can see in MV. It is the freshness of food and taste that count when cooking style is the same.
