Opening Promotion Ichiriki 1U

Salmon Teriyaki Set at MYR 23++ (10% service charge and 6% SST = MYR 26.70 nett) at Ichiriki Japanese Restaurant (opposite Secret Recipe) at One Utama. The salmon is served on a sizzling Teppan (metal griddle). For comparison, here are some salmon sets from Sushi Tei, Nippori at Bunch, Rakuzen and Robatayaki. I prefer salmon shioyaki (grilled with a bit of salt) than salmon grilled with teriyaki sauce.

Both of us ordered the same set.

There is an opening promotion of 20% off for two selected dishes. One of them is Mixed Fry Set at MYR 23++ from MYR 29++ (a savings of MYR 6++). The Mixed Fry Set consists of one piece of deep fried salmon and two pieces of deep fried minced pork patty with cheese fillings. I wanted to have this set but changed my mind when the staff explained that it is minced pork patty. I think Menchi Katsu means breaded deep fried ground meat patty.

The other dish with 20% off is Pork Karaage Teppan Curry Rice at MYR 19++ from MYR 24++ (a savings of MYR 5++). I did not order this because I don't like the look of the deep fried pork swimming in the curry gravy.

Ichiriki at One Utama, occupying a corner shop unit opposite Secret Recipe on the LG Floor.

  1. I don't mind trying the minced pork patty though.

  2. The salmon set looks good. My girl would love that - she loves salmon. The mixed fry set looks o.k. too but no, I would not want the rice drowned in the curry like that.

  3. The mix fry set is all breaded and fried stuff, not attractive either.

    2. Not ALL breaded and fried lah. Must have some variety like grilled or whatnot.

    1. That's quite a sweeping statement. Japanese cuisine covers a very wide range of cooking style as with many other cuisine so not liking one dish is just one or two dishes, can't extrapolate it to the whole cuisine.
