WG Set Lunch 33 36 39

My friend suggested going for lunch at this Japanese restaurant that she has read about. The napkin is folded nicely and placed on the plate. A cup of green tea at MYR 2++ (10% service charge and 6% GST so it is MYR 2.35 nett).

I believe she is here for this nice green refreshing view.

She chose to sit at this area where there is a sunken area below the table for guests to put their legs as most local guests are not accustomed to sitting on the floor.

We ordered from the set lunch menu where there are 3 sections with dishes listed under each section.
For MYR 33++, one can choose 2 dishes from section A where guests are not allowed to choose the same dish twice.
For MYR 36++, one can choose 2 dishes from section B or (1 dish from section A and 1 dish from section B).
For MYR 39++, one can choose 2 dishes from section C or (1 dish from section B and 1 dish from section C).
Since my friend wanted to eat here, I let her select all 4 dishes as we are having 2 sets and we will share all the food and split the bill equally in half. This mini chawan mushi is included in the set lunch.

Grilled Teriyaki Saba and Vegetables Tempura from Section A.

Buttered scallops and assorted mushrooms stir-fry from Section B.

Only 3 small scallops. I ate one and my friend ate two.

The portion of mushrooms is quite small too.

Soup, rice and pickled vegetables are included in the lunch set.

A total bill of MYR 86.10 nett so it is MYR 43.05 nett each. I believe this place is better known for the fresh raw food from the ala carte menu. This restaurant is located in a separate building but still in the grounds of Holiday Inn Express Hotel (used to house ING before they sold their business in this country to AIA).

  1. Japsnese food is my favourite other than thai food, i like the scallops and tempura you had but the portion definitely not enough to fill my stomach, i must go for a buffet like TM! Lol

  4. I love that type of sunken floor seating which is rare. I can count that I have sat on this no more than 10 times. So shiok.

  5. 33-36-39 sound like someone's vital statistics gone wrong. Anyway, the meals come in such dainty portions. Just right for you I guess :)
