After the renovation some time last year (2017), Old Chang Kee at One Utama has changed their curry puffs from almost cylindrical to almost flat shapes now.
At about MYR 3.30 per piece, the fillings are less now due to its flat shape although the piece of hard boiled egg is still there for the chicken potatoes curry puffs. Now they have added more choices such as satay chicken puffs and chicken rendang puffs among others.
It used to be like this (cross section).
The colour of this photo is off here but the fillings are a lot.
So much fillings back then.
Do you know that old chang kee are coming out with nasi lemak curry puffs lol
ReplyDeleteI read about that and I was wondering will it be available here.
DeleteOh this is so sad. Just like Ikea's currypuff. Now so flat and empty inside. I just read on FB that they have nasi lemak curry puffs now. I don't know if it is already launched or not though.
ReplyDeleteRecently I bought Ikea's curry puffs twice and found them to be too oily. Next time I go to one utama I will check for the nasi lemak curry puffs.
DeleteYes, I saw on Facebook, they have nasi lemak puffs now. Not a fan of Old Chang Kee, not even in Singapore a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteWonder if it is available here. If it is, I will try it once.
DeleteIndeed. There is a difference. So much filling back then.
ReplyDeleteNot only did the filling get less but now the price is more expensive too.
DeleteOh dear.. I love Old Changki... many years back, the pastry I like, the fillings I super like.. only $1 then in Sg. Now I heard they have nasi lemak puff too!
ReplyDeleteI have not eaten them in Singapore. I hope they have nasi lemak puffs here too so that I can try.
DeleteOh my. The curry puff is priced at our local noodle- the kolo mee. I may not buy this curry puff.
ReplyDeletecan understand why.
DeleteI miss the old version!

Deleteprices are going up and food serving portion are getting lesser even on curry puffs..:(

DeleteI thought only developers are shrinking their condo sizes at old prices but these curry puffs are doing the same. Muahahaha
ReplyDeletebut this is not old prices but new prices.
DeleteMight as well eat Ikea ones? Yeah I heard about the nasi lemak puffs - apparently not that easy to buy since they cook batch by batch.
