27 of us were here for a farewell lunch. The vegetables here are nice and fresh. Steamboat and hotpot meals are the last thing on my list because I dislike cooking my own food and having to sit there and wait for them to be cooked by looking and checking on them every now and then.
6 pax to a table with two pots of boiling soup. We chose 2 sukiyaki soup base, 1 miso soup base and 1 kimchi soup base.
I like the pumpkin, yam, daikon, shitake mushroom pieces. The lamb slices were very thin but fresh with a very strong lamb taste.
Click on it to read the text. There are 5 soup base available and 4 types of meat: pork, chicken, beef and lamb. You need to pay extra if you order from the ala carte section. Sukishi at Starling Mall
It sure looks like this Starling place is the place to be these days, can get all the nice eateries there.
ReplyDeletemost of the malls here have many nice eateries.
DeleteI like steamboat where everyone gets together and cook own food. Haha.
ReplyDeleteopposite with me.
Deletei prefer steamboat when it is on a cold weather. I'm lazy to cook too, hence I seldom go steamboat/bbq. Also, hate that sweats after the meal.
ReplyDeleteSame as me.
DeleteThe yin-yang soup is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHaving things already cut up and served to dip into soup is not that tough by my standards, but everyone has their own preferences!
Ah you mentioned the easy part. The difficult part is having to wait for it to be cooked and wait for the cooked food to cool down.
DeleteOh ya that is true. Especially when the kids are around then busy cooking for them, cooling it down somewhere else before transporting it to their bowls.
DeleteYa, you got it right! :)
DeleteOnce in a while I look forward to steamboat. I have tried Japanese steamboat.
ReplyDeleteI can't differentiate between the different types of steamboat.
DeleteSame as you, i do not really like steamboat as i will be too hungry to wait patiently for the food to be cooked
ReplyDeleteThe waiting part is the part I don't like.
