One of my friend's favourite dish - potato salad at MYR 4.80 nett. She finished the whole dish above by herself while we shared the other food.
Okra with sesame dressing - MYR 5.80 nett and the two of us ate 1 chawanmushi each at MYR 5.80 nett.
Crab meat salad again but this time with wafu dressing instead of sesame dressing at MYR 17.80 nett.
Edamame is a must-eat must-share dish at MYR 5.80 nett.
Bill for two pax - MYR 48.60 nett at Sushi Zanmai, Starling. I did not order any main dish because I was still full from breakfast.
I love mashed potatoes. First time seeing it in a salad, normally, in potato salad, it will be in cubes.
ReplyDeleteseems to be a practice in Japanese restaurants.
DeleteI love potato salad. Seldom taste crab salad, not many places serve this over here. I love edamame and when ever I go to Japanese outlet, I usually order a plate of this. I mostly finish it off by myself.

DeleteBoth the salads look good!
ReplyDeletefor salad lovers they should be ok.
DeleteNowadays the Japanese menu has included so much western salads, fried fish, pork chops and even spaghetti yet consumers call them Japanese food! My Japanese client told me they could not survive selling just Japanese food alone like how Chinese restaurants do. That made me think over that they seem to borrow all the food ideas from everywhere including the sushi which originated from Korea. LOL
ReplyDeleteI wonder how does a culture claim a food as their own? Need to go back how many years - to the stone age?
