Wobbly

Jelly Coconut (MYR6.50) bought from Dusun stall in LG Midvalley/Gardens Mall. Very soft wobbly jelly and refreshing too with young coconut flesh which I always scrap off completely to eat without leaving any behind. I do not know where Dusun sourced this coconut but the texture is like Joez Coconut Jelly from Penang.

  1. I tried once, not crazy about it - very popular here, they call it coconut pudding. They tell me there's a very good one in Sarikei, their own-made one. Yet to drive all the way to try.

  5. I have not eating coconut pudding straight from the coconut. The one I ate in Terengganu was in a tupperware. I'd prefer from the coconut. Looks more presentable :D

    1. I think those sold in tupperware are made differently with agar-agar powder. This one I don't think is made with agar-agar powder.

  7. Been wanting to try this :) Haven't encountered any convenient seller though. Do they add sugar into the jelly part?

    1. If you are in KL Sentral, you can buy this jelly coconut from Joez Coconut. They have a booth there. No, no sugar is added to the jelly part or to any part of the coconut.

  8. They basically just make the agar-agar with the coconut water directly. Joez is just famous, but I think if anyone does it that way, it should taste the same. :)

    1. I think I have read somewhere that they just need to heat up the coconut to a certain temperature to get the coconut water to turn to jelly without using any agar-agar powder at all.
