McD Salted Caramel Choc Pie

Salted caramel chocolate pie. My friend warned me that it is very sweet but I didn't find it so because I only eat a quarter of it and share the rest with my other friends. Surprisingly, I find that this combination works. It tastes good.

Non meat yee sang and two other vegetarian dishes for CNY Day 1.

Chicken satay. The marinate is very flavourful so my friends like it.

Nasi lemak fried chicken and two drinks which are decent.

Chicken cooked with red gravy of tomato taste and very, very little spiciness with plain rice. The papadum crackers saved thos dish. Chicken mushroom siew mai which gets the thumbs up from my friends.

4 dumplings sui gao which got the thumbs down because the fillings are forgettable.

A fair price to pay to eat out for brunch on CNY day 1 where the waiters get quadruple pay for working on an important public holiday. Just a note to mention that Papparich menu has fixed prices that are not increased due to CNY. These are the usual normal prices.

Reunion Dinner

Home noodle

Today is the day before CNY so happy reunion dinner everyone! Are you all busy cooking the reunion dinner or just eat out?

The previous pack of Kellogg's angpow packets contains only Minnie design so I bought another pack of Kellogg's cornflakes (275g) to get Mickey design from Jaya Grocer at MYR 6.28 nett.

*** Noodles ***

Here are some noodles we ate last year:

My friend recommended this eatery in Sri Petaling to me so we ordered two bowls of noodles. The noodles are Mi Xian noodles but they are not like the usual Mi Xian because they are springy like glass noodles so for those who like springy rice noodles like my friend, this is the place to eat at.

Total price is MYR 38.20 nett for two bowls of noodles.

Quite a new eatery in Sri Petaling.

SeaSalt Blue IC n WG MaliCai

For lunch, we visited Er Lou Cafe at Section 17, PJ again. As I have mentioned here that I will order the fried noodles malicai if I eat here again, this time I did order it. Fried noodles Mali Cai at MYR 12.90+ and top up MYR 1.50+ for any drink from the menu so I selected barley lime without any sugar so the total price for my lunch is MYR 15.84 nett.

The fried noodles Mali Cai is on the oily and salty with a tinge of sweet side. It reminded me of the Blood Cockles / See Ham fried noodles that I used to eat when young. Mali Cai  (马尼菜) is Sauropus androgynus, also known as star gooseberry, or sweet leaf, cekur manis, sayur manis, or cangkuk manis. I like to eat Mali Cai and the pieces of eggs in this dish but would prefer the noodles to be less salty. I kept half the noodles for dinner.

My friend's Char Siew Thin Noodles (large portion) at MYR 11.90+ (MYR 13.09 nett).

Both my friends top up MYR 1.50+ to add on a drink from their drink menu so the total price is MYR 45.30 nett which means on average, it costs MYR 15.10 nett per person to have a main meal plus a drink at this eatery.

*** Ice cream ***

Sea Salt Blue and Strawberry ice cream from Family Mart at MYR 2.90 nett each. I like the Strawberry ice cream because it has a tinge of sour taste to it whereas for the sea salt blue ice cream, I cannot detect any special taste - just sweet but my friends say that it tastes like soap due to having  bicarbonate which leads to the baking soda soapy taste. I have no idea whether or not there are baking soda in the blue ice cream but as I have a high tolerance to the taste of baking soda, I could not detect it.

Strawberry ic from McD. It does not have a tinge of sour taste so it is not as tasty as the strawberry ice cream from Family Mart. The price is MYR 2 nett each but the McD app offers two strawberry ice cream for MYR 3 nett so it means MYR 1.50 nett each which is a good deal so I have been eating just too many McD strawberry ic with the promo from the hp app.

WG Wrap up lunch

Pork (Pai Kuat Wong) - medium portion - MYR 22 nett.

Mix vegetable - MYR 13 nett. My friend wanted to order the vege dish with lotus root as shown in our previous meal here back in 2017 but got this vege dish instead.

Tofu - MYR 20 nett.

Yam Basket - MYR 22 nett.

My very little rice.

A few scoops from each dish is enough for me.

Lunch for 5 pax at New Paris eatery at SS2, PJ before CNY. Total 96.50 so those who ordered drinks pay MYR 20.70 nett and those who did not pay MYR 17.20 nett. Quite a good price I would say.

Takeaway McD mix and match:

1. One chicken drumstick match with Apple Pie for MYR 6.50 nett

2. One cheese burger match with small fries for MYR 6 nett.

McD prosperity burgers only have chicken and fish. The beef patties for prosperity burgers are out of stock. I like buying McD mix and match because they are affordable and I don't want any drinks that are included in the value set.

Kellog's also has the same idea to use Disney's most famous character on their angpow packets packaged with their boxes of cornflakes. A supermarket is selling the boxes of cornflakes at a good price of MYR 6.28 nett.
