I have been reading about this cendol shop in Paradigm Mall so I went to try the food out with my family. True enough the food is tasty and price is reasonable.
Penang white curry with chilli paste in the spoon to be mixed in later - MYR7.90 - really tasty!
Assam Laksa - MYR7.90 - not that salty, more sourish so this is a lighter version of Penang Assam Laksa I would say.
Penang Cendol - MYR4.90 each - the palm sugar tastes authentic enough. I only wish they have given us more shaved ice for the cendol.
ABC - MYR4.90 - with peanuts and rose syrup. This order was a mistake - we should have just ordered another bowl of cendol because although it is a nice bowl of ABC on its own, it pales in comparison with the cendol. All prices are nett.
During lunch time, there will be a long queue and not enough seats since it is not a big shop. Better go and eat during non-peak hours if you crave for the taste of Penang cendol (which was what we did).
See the ABC makes me think of the ice kacang with peanut filling in Kulai, that's the best i have eaten, so miss it now :(
ReplyDeleteYou prefer abc to cendol?
DeleteThe white curry mee looks good, just like the one I had before this, the instant type ;)
ReplyDeleteYou mean MyKuali Penang white curry? Now got many white curry instant noodle by all sorts of brand. Yes that one is nice but I take the easy route - just eat out easier. :)
DeleteOMG I love everything you ordered.. All my favourite! Curry mee, cendol & ice kacang! Yummzzz.. I'm a big eater, I can finish both the curry mee and assam laksa, but I always cannot finish the ice kacang one..
ReplyDeleteThis abc also we did not finish despite having 4 of us in a group.
DeleteI have passed by this place when I was out with my sister and mum recently. It was very long queue that time, though I really want to try the ice kacang one day. I love ice kacang and it's quite hard to find good one around my area.
ReplyDeleteMy 2 favourite abc is the stall outside 7-11 in Brickfields and the foodcourt in ss2 stall 41. Both also quite far from my place. Same like you there is no abc worth eating in my area.
DeleteI would opt for asam laksa :)
ReplyDeleteBut this one is the lite version. :)
Deleteoh, I love cendol ..
ReplyDeleteMe too.
DeleteThis shop seems to be popular... saw quite a few put up on FB... I love chendol too! Especially those creamy creamy ones.. oh dear, my cholesterol is forgotten..
ReplyDeleteCendol is ok. Not a culprit. If you worry about cholesterol from food I think saturated fat or deep fried food are the ones you need to worry more. Anyway I read the book the great cholesterol myth so I do not subscribe to cholesterol from food.
DeleteGood to see you here! :)
hahaha, when i read the title "Teochew Chendul" and saw the first photo, i thought that was what you were referring to!! luckily, that was just the Penang White Curry, haha!! i am a Teochew but never heard of Teochew Cendol before lah.. anyway, the food looks good, and i want to try that white curry (i didn't gotta try that world famous My Kuali instant white curry noodles though)..
ReplyDeleteHahaha, Teochew Chendul is the name of the shop. I think it is referring to the Penang Road famous cendul stall. Maybe the owner of that stall is a Teochew. I only tried one mouthful of My Kuali curry only.
DeletePenang cendol nice?? I like ABC! Nice to take at this weather.
ReplyDeleteNice! All ice if not that sweet is nice in this hot weather.
DeleteThe laksa looks like very spicy to me...should be suit my taste very well, hehe!!! =]
ReplyDeleteThis assam laksa is lite version, not that spicy.
