Stirfried ginger, spring onion and slices of fish (not sure what type of fish this is) served with rice set comes with a glass of herbal drink (drink is not shown here) - MYR11.90 (MYR13.80 after 10% service charge and 6% gov. tax) - Esquire Kitchen. Not the best but not the worst either - passable.
I quite love this kinda rice and the side dishes, I prefer fish than chicken/pork ;)
ReplyDeleteMe too - prefer fish to other meat.
DeleteAhhhh!!! Esquire! Used to love the place when they first started at Sg Wang long long ago. Loved the beef noodles, the steamed buns that you stuff with stewed meat...but eventually, it became more and more expensive and they seemed to have compromised on the taste. Not all that keen on dropping by anymore.
ReplyDeleteYes you are right. Last time when I was in std one the food from this place tasted so good. Now that there are better eateries around, I only patron this place when the other options are worse.
DeleteOoohh, I love this kinda rice. Like ginger fish with rice, sweet sour pork with rice, kamheong chicken with rice, butter chicken with rice.. All very enuff "wok hei", kan?
ReplyDeleteYes can see got "wok si" - tiny tiny black burn bits in the sauce if I look closely at it. Actually I am not so keen about "wok hei".
DeleteNowaday the zi char stall sell this kind of rice...
ReplyDeleteWhat is "zi char"?
DeleteI love this dish. I love fish more than pork and chicken.
ReplyDeleteSame as Hayley and me. :)
DeleteNice meal... Not a bad deal.. Esquire Kitchen is prestigious, branded name even when I was a young girl.. imagine how many years already... hahaha...
ReplyDeleteI also eat there when I was a little girl. Good that this restaurant can stand the test of time.
DeleteLooks like lot of rice of it, if for me, I'll just take half of it only, hehe!!! =]
ReplyDeleteI share this plate of rice with my spouse as I also cannot finish this much.
