A portion of mix steamed chicken meat with roast pork with rice costs MYR10.90 nett. The ginger dip is so tasty that we had to request for another portion and we finished eating all the ginger dip at the end of our meal. No MSG at all in the ginger dip as I was not tasty after eating so much of the ginger dip.
I requested for half a portion of rice that comes with my roast chicken and of course is charged the same price of MYR7.90 nett.
A small pot of water cress and pork soup for us to share at MYR7.90 nett.
As the prices are nett, the total bill came up to MYR26.70 nett for our early dinner.
The counter with all the roasted and steamed chickens faces the walk way so customers who pass by can see their products.
The other side of the counter that faces the interior of the shop
Bentong Chicken Rice serves chicken reared in Bentong. It is a new eatery in Jalil Link.
I usually prefer white steam chicken for chicken rice and yes, I like the ginger dip too, very "hoi wai"
ReplyDeleteI just had water cress and pork soup (西洋菜湯) today too!
DeleteI prefer the roast chicken instead.
DeleteWater cress and pork soup is a favourite soup for many.
DeleteSometimes I don't mind roasted chicken for a change
DeleteOf course can't expect you to eat the same food every time. :)
DeleteVery famous, some have blogged about this - they went to Bentong to enjoy it. Seems there are different shops - would need to know the right one to get to eat the nice one.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that Bentong is famous for their chicken. I only know that Bentong is famous for their durian.
DeleteThought you went all the way to Bentong. The chicken skin looks... not dark enough. Really that nice ar??
ReplyDeleteIf I go all the way to Bentong, I would eat Bentong durians instead. This roast skin is just golden, not those brown golden. I think the skins are marinated with not so much soy sauce so not dark lah. Nice for me, maybe not so nice for you since you would like siew yoke more.
DeleteEverything looked so yummy here. The chicken rice is very famous??
ReplyDeleteRoasted or steamed I can have both.
I supposed there is a famous Bentong chicken rice gua.
DeleteThey do have 3 different types of dipping ha?
ReplyDeleteThe chicken looks yummy!
2 different types of dip but we asked for another saucer of the same dip so there are 3 saucers of dips in the photo.
DeleteNot bad for dinner, my kind of meal too especially with a bowl of hot soup... nice!
ReplyDeleteWe had this for early dinner at 4pm. So you like to drink hot soup too.
DeleteOh! I love chicken rice. But thigh and drumsticks for me. And I too love the ginger dip.
ReplyDeleteThigh and drumsticks' meat are even smoother, too smooth for me. :)
DeleteI prefer roast but I wouldn't mind eating the steamed chicken. We love the ginger dip and watercress soup too. Very clean and nice looking shop.
ReplyDeleteI too prefer roast to steamed anytime. :)
