Replaced

At the end of last year (2015), we noticed that Sea Nian has replaced Yau Hao Fook that used to be our regular eatery in 2014.

Stirfry Ginger Duck served with rice and choy sum - MYR8 nett

A glass of barley with pumpkin - MYR2 nett. I like this drink because it was only slightly sweet.

Wat Tan Ying Yong (Hor Fun and deep fried Mee Hoon stirfried in slippery smooth egg gravy) - MYR7.50 nett.

Here you can see the hor fun and deep fried mee hoon.

Interior - they reused almost all of the decorations of Yau Hao Fook and only replaced the chairs and tables. The food here is acceptable so we may drop in again when we have no idea where to go for food.

  2. As long as the food is good, never mind who's running the place.

    1. It is a totally new eatery with a different cook and different menu. I prefer the dishes in the menu of the previous eatery.

    1. The drink is very nice. So nice until we cook it at home using barley and pumpkin which turned out to be very tasty too.

  4. I guess most importantly is that the food suits your taste, whether it's Sea Nian or Yau Hao Fook.. :)

  6. Actually the wat tan hor doesn't look too appealing to me. The gravy seems too "clear"..

    1. The hor fun is dark in colour so when you mixed the whole thing up will be dark in colour.

    1. Totally new eatery with new menu and new cook. Not a new owner taking over the previous eatery.

  10. Barley with pumpkin. I have never try that. I don't really like pumpkin so I don't know if I will like this combo.

  11. RM 8 for that is quite value for money. My chap fan nowadays frequently goes for that with 1 meat and 1 veggie too.

Interesting, I've never had a pumpkin drink before.

    1. Try cooking your own pumpkin and barley drink. Very nice! I didn't put any sugar in it but you may want to put a little if you have a sweet tooth.
