At the end of last year (2015), we noticed that Sea Nian has replaced Yau Hao Fook that used to be our regular eatery in 2014.
Stirfry Ginger Duck served with rice and choy sum - MYR8 nett
A glass of barley with pumpkin - MYR2 nett. I like this drink because it was only slightly sweet.
Wat Tan Ying Yong (Hor Fun and deep fried Mee Hoon stirfried in slippery smooth egg gravy) - MYR7.50 nett.
Here you can see the hor fun and deep fried mee hoon.
Interior - they reused almost all of the decorations of Yau Hao Fook and only replaced the chairs and tables. The food here is acceptable so we may drop in again when we have no idea where to go for food.
I like my hor fan to be a little burned and dark colour
ReplyDeleteThis hor fun is dark in colour also.
DeleteAs long as the food is good, never mind who's running the place.
ReplyDeleteIt is a totally new eatery with a different cook and different menu. I prefer the dishes in the menu of the previous eatery.
Deletewonder how the barley and pumpkin drink taste like..next time I will try to order the wat tan yin yong combination here..
ReplyDeleteThe drink is very nice. So nice until we cook it at home using barley and pumpkin which turned out to be very tasty too.
DeleteI guess most importantly is that the food suits your taste, whether it's Sea Nian or Yau Hao Fook.. :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer the previous eatery.
DeleteThe ginger duck looks good, I like the gingery gravy, to be eaten with rice.. My MIL used to cook ginger duck often lastime, but now, no more, she said she dare not eat duck already, so no cook duck liao..
ReplyDeleteGinger duck is confirmed to be tasty. :)
DeleteActually the wat tan hor doesn't look too appealing to me. The gravy seems too "clear"..
ReplyDeleteThe hor fun is dark in colour so when you mixed the whole thing up will be dark in colour.
DeleteMy eyes went wide! First time I see a glass of barley with pumpkin. What a unique combo. I know I will love that.
ReplyDeleteYes, you will. We cook it at home and it is nice so you can try cooking this drink at home too.
DeleteMaybe different owner taking over. The food looked good.
ReplyDeleteTotally new eatery with new menu and new cook. Not a new owner taking over the previous eatery.
DeleteI like the interior of the restaurant. Ginger duck rice and barley with pumpkin will be my choice.
ReplyDeleteThe food is not bad.
DeleteBarley with pumpkin. I have never try that. I don't really like pumpkin so I don't know if I will like this combo.
ReplyDeleteI like pumpkin so we even cook this at home after drinking this and it is tasty.
DeleteRM 8 for that is quite value for money. My chap fan nowadays frequently goes for that with 1 meat and 1 veggie too.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, I've never had a pumpkin drink before.
Try cooking your own pumpkin and barley drink. Very nice! I didn't put any sugar in it but you may want to put a little if you have a sweet tooth.
