Soon Fatt Beijing Roast Duck

This roast duck stall shares the same shop as the Damansara Uptown Hokkien Mee at Kuchai Lama.

It seems that this is a branch of the famous Beijing Roast Duck in Jalan Pasar Pudu. We did not eat this roast duck in the shop but ordered a takeaway of a quarter duck (lower portion) for MYR18 and this duck is really tasty, with crispy skin and very flavourful but not salty meat.

Just look at all the ducks hanging up there. I think business must be good that they prepare so many ducks to be sold for one evening.

  3. Oh yes, the number of ducks occupying the counter is the best testament on how good they are! It is slightly more expensive than the famous one that I see in Ampang, here we can get pipa duck for RM 43/duck.. Wonder which one is better..

  4. Oh, so the stall in front is the famous Soon Fatt Beijing roast duck (same as Peking duck, right?) from Pudu (which I've not tried).

  5. I can trust your judgement that the duck is crispy and nice.
I always faced difficulty to find good servings and end up eating those crispy sliced duck being wrapped with poh piah skin.

    1. Have you eaten the pipa duck in sek yuen restaurant in pudu?

    2. No, never tried it there. My last pipa was at the duck rice chain with the giant model of a duck outside - the name escapes me now.

  11. The menu resembles that of Tian Xiao Er in SG. I'm not a duck person, but hubby would love to try the dishes. Have a wonderful weekend, dear! xoxo
