We ordered the BM Yam Rice with Pork Soup set meal (MYR10.90 nett) to share
I tried a bit of the coagulated pork blood this time - not much taste while I was chewing it but once I swallowed it, the aftertaste that hit me was bad, almost like smelly tofu (chow tofu). I like the sourish taste of this soup. This soup is very different from those pepper pork soup because it is sourish and not peppery.
The menu that attracted us to order this set
Pork meatballs, stomach, small intestines, coagulated pork blood and other ingredients to be included in the mixed pork soup.
Looked like we were very early!
Luckily BM Yam Rice is open during cny day2
Publika is generally better priced for parking than the city centre malls. We were only at KLCC for two hours last night and our parking fee was RM10!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I have not been to KLCC for many moons now. The parking rate there is sure expensive.
DeleteI've a very good friend in BM. Hmmmm....maybe I can go on a pilgrimage to St Anne and get him to take me for the real thing there. Never tried yam rice before.
ReplyDeleteYes, do make a trip there to visit your good friend. I believe you will like the yam rice.
DeleteLet me recall what I did on chor 2.. Oooo, went to my mum's place in the morning, and to my mil's place for dinner, that's all, hehe..
ReplyDeleteI was at mil's place helping with cooking for dinner too. :)
DeleteOn 2nd day we went to a coffee shop for breakfast. In my next post! ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the soup you had. I need soup now. Down with flu, cough and sore throat.
Hope you get well soon!
DeleteSo you're one of those people who can taste the coagulated blood. I have never been able to feel any taste to it. All this while it is just like black tofu to me :/
ReplyDeleteYes, initially it felt like eating tofu. I think it is because you did not let the aftertaste to sink in, you just straight away put other food into your mouth to chew so the smelly aftertaste of the blood did not have time to reveal itself to you.
DeleteI think the menu attracted your spouse more than you...kekeke (since he loves his pork innards soup)!! I do eat coagulated blood (although I'm not a fan) but you need to dip it into a fresh spicy and sour chilli sauce in order to mar the taste a bit.
ReplyDeleteSince we are sharing this meal, he gets priority to choose as I let him eat the bigger portion. If you eat this blood, you will eat smelly tofu, right?
DeleteI've never eaten smelly tofu....and I don't ever intend to, so I don't know what it actually taste like. The coagulated blood (for me) has the texture of pudding...but with a bit of fishy taste to it.
Deletei dun eat coagulated blood too...so 'geli' and the thought of eating 'blood' makes it even less appealing.
ReplyDeleteNormally I don't eat. This time just to try a bit since that piece is quite big.
DeleteI came to this Publika food court before..I settled for the Penang cendol and asam laksa.
ReplyDeleteHappy CNY to you and family, Mun.
Penang Cendol was closed on CNY day 2. Usually I eat there too. Thanks! Happy CNY to you and your loved ones too.
Deletei am staying at home for the 1st and 2nd day of CNY, rather not take the risk to go out and to find out everywhere is closed, haha..
ReplyDeleteawww, the yam rice and the soup looks good (though i would asked not to be given any inards).. how early were you?? the place looked like totally empty, like opened just for you, haha!!
Around 10am I think. You did not go out to bai nian on day 1 and 2?
DeleteMun, I would love to be able to go to a nice quiet place on the 2nd day of CNY, I love yam rice. I think I would order soup with meatballs only and go with my favourite yam rice.
ReplyDeleteIf early enough, most places would be quiet I think.
DeleteCoagulated pork blood? Eeeks! You are very brave to eat that :)
ReplyDeleteTry a bit only.
DeleteThis place looks very nice! I would love to try this pork soup!
ReplyDeleteWould you try the blood?
DeleteI love yam rice too! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteDo you eat the blood thingy?
DeleteWah that's a lot of meat balls!!
ReplyDeleteI love yam rice! But now cannot eat yam, hur hur...
That's for sale for the whole day I guess.
DeleteI was at pavilion on the first day. brought my in laws there for dinner but all the chinese restaurants were closed! horrified with nothing to eat, we ended up eating char koey teow and sorts at Grandmama's. But luckily the food there was nice :D
ReplyDeleteFood court is closed too?
Deletei tried before :)
ReplyDeletecheap and nice !! HAHAHAHA.
Yes it is nice.
DeleteThis was my regular lunch stall. :) To me, only this one and the hokkien mee are worth the premium prices. Plus the yongtaufoo is ok too.
ReplyDeletePremium price? I thought MYR10.90 nett for this set is a very good price.
