BM Yam Rice

CNY Day 2: we went to Publika for an early lunch as the parking fee is a flat rate of MYR2 per entry during public holidays and weekends.

We ordered the BM Yam Rice with Pork Soup set meal (MYR10.90 nett) to share

I tried a bit of the coagulated pork blood this time - not much taste while I was chewing it but once I swallowed it, the aftertaste that hit me was bad, almost like smelly tofu (chow tofu). I like the sourish taste of this soup. This soup is very different from those pepper pork soup because it is sourish and not peppery.

The menu that attracted us to order this set

Pork meatballs, stomach, small intestines, coagulated pork blood and other ingredients to be included in the mixed pork soup.

Looked like we were very early!

Luckily BM Yam Rice is open during cny day2

  1. Publika is generally better priced for parking than the city centre malls. We were only at KLCC for two hours last night and our parking fee was RM10!!!

    1. I think I have not been to KLCC for many moons now. The parking rate there is sure expensive.

Love the soup you had. I need soup now. Down with flu, cough and sore throat.

  5. So you're one of those people who can taste the coagulated blood. I have never been able to feel any taste to it. All this while it is just like black tofu to me :/

    1. Yes, initially it felt like eating tofu. I think it is because you did not let the aftertaste to sink in, you just straight away put other food into your mouth to chew so the smelly aftertaste of the blood did not have time to reveal itself to you.

  6. I think the menu attracted your spouse more than you...kekeke (since he loves his pork innards soup)!! I do eat coagulated blood (although I'm not a fan) but you need to dip it into a fresh spicy and sour chilli sauce in order to mar the taste a bit.

    1. Since we are sharing this meal, he gets priority to choose as I let him eat the bigger portion. If you eat this blood, you will eat smelly tofu, right?

    2. I've never eaten smelly tofu....and I don't ever intend to, so I don't know what it actually taste like. The coagulated blood (for me) has the texture of pudding...but with a bit of fishy taste to it.

  7. i dun eat coagulated blood too...so 'geli' and the thought of eating 'blood' makes it even less appealing.

  10. Mun, I would love to be able to go to a nice quiet place on the 2nd day of CNY, I love yam rice. I think I would order soup with meatballs only and go with my favourite yam rice.

  16. This was my regular lunch stall. :) To me, only this one and the hokkien mee are worth the premium prices. Plus the yongtaufoo is ok too.
