This is a Salted Egg Yolk Pastry (Ham Dan So, 鹹蛋酥, 咸蛋酥) from Ming Yue bakery in Ipoh. I feel that it is very big because it is bigger than a tablespoon.
It looks better than the one I had here and tastes very good. Just look at how golden and glistening the salted egg yolk is. I am not sure how much this costs.
It does look good, one whole egg yolk. Here we would probably get a quarter, not even half...and not cheap at all even though made locally!
ReplyDeleteOne whole salted egg yolk is so generous.
DeleteOh wow! A one whole salted egg in the pastry.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised by it too.
DeleteYummy ham dan so! I love this!
ReplyDeleteSame here. :)
DeleteOMG! I wanna scream at this yummy salted eggs. My favourite la.
ReplyDeleteGo try this if you pass by Ipoh.
DeleteI have tried something like this before at TK Confectionery.
ReplyDeleteDoes it look as good as this?
DeleteOoooh I love this type of pastry. I can eat them whole.
ReplyDeletevery filling if eat alone.
DeleteThat egg yolk won't be able to fit in there if it's smaller.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, they could have looked for smaller salted egg yolks then.
