They use basmati rice so it is light and the long grains are easy to eat. The vegetables are carrots, french beans, purple cabbage, leeks, cloud ear fungus, beancurd, cabbage, and some other green vegetables.
The Lei Cha soup looks clear and my friend tried this clear soup and said that it tastes like beef soup.
Then I stirred the soup and it turned murky and green like the above but my friend did not want to try again so she did not taste the Lei Cha soup taste. I like the taste. To me, it is not bitter at all.
Total Bill for 5 pax is MYR 71.90 nett.
That looks kinda diluted, supposed to be real bitter, the more bitter the better - an acquired taste. Healthy, but no, I'm not into it.
ReplyDeleteThe most bitter drink I have ever drank is the wong lo kat extra bitter herbal drink.
DeleteSo colourful lie cha.they sure add a lot of vegetables to it. Traditional Hakka lei cha has no cabbages and carrots to it.
ReplyDeleteI don't have it that often. Once a while for detox and cleansing. And it has cooling property so I don't take it as much as I want it. The proper way to eat is to pour all the soup and mix with the ingredients and rice. And not forgetting peanuts for that nutty flavour.
I eat it as normal meal, not for detox and cleansing.
DeletePresentation is nice, a bit like 'yee sang'.
ReplyDeleteVery colourful too.
DeleteMy son likes Lui Char.. over here it is served in a big bowl and the soup is very green and thick, a strong smell of the mint but not everybody like that.. hahaaa.
ReplyDeleteI will like it like that.
DeleteThis is so delicious and healthy looking plate with so many colours! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteIt does look healthy doesn't it?
DeleteI like lui cha but hubby wouldn't eat lui cha!
ReplyDeleteMy spouse will eat it if I ask him to share with me but he will not eat it on his own.
DeleteBeen wanting to try lei cha but afraid I might not like it. How do you eat this? Do you pour the soup into the dish and mix it all up?
ReplyDeleteYes one is supposed to pour the soup into the dish and mix it all up. Sometimes I do that but many times I just drink the soup separately.
DeleteI had tried lei cha once and i don't really like it as i am more into flavourful food
ReplyDeleteI guess you don't like the taste of all the herbs and vegetables in the soup.
DeleteI had lei cha just last week.
ReplyDeletewhere? tasty or not? did you like it?
DeleteGotta try Lei Cha someday..... xoxo
