Rakuzen finally

We have known for a long time that the menu of Rakuzen is similar to those of Kura Japanese restaurant in One World Hotel, Bandar Utama and Hokkaido Ichiba, the Gardens mall because they are from the same group but we have never eaten there until recently when we went to Sunway Velocity.

Nabe Udon Salmon Don Set - MYR45 nett. I shared this set with my friend. I had the salmon don while she ate the Nabe Udon.

Salmon Shioyaki Set - MYR30 nett. The salmon is fresh and tasty.

Ebiten Tobiko Maki - MYR20 nett. I was taken aback by how it looks. I think they should have used a smaller plate for this.

Close up of the prawn roll. Taste quite nice.

Rakuzen at Sunway Velocity Mall. The food here tastes as good as those from Kura Restaurant so we will eat here instead of going all the way to Kura the next time we feel like having Japanese food.

For drinks, we ordered 3 cups of hot green tea (refillable) which turned out to be free of charge. I like Japanese eateries that provide free refillable green tea drinks. Total bill came up to MYR95 nett.

  3. Not really a fan of Japanese but I do like it sometimes fro a change, prefer it to Korean by a mile...but since our favourite in town closed down, I have not had any. Wouldn't mind going for it, first chance I get.

  7. Yes I've dined in Rakuzen several times and love their food. LoL at the Ebiten Tobiko Maki. Looks so lonely in that huge plate. Haha.

  8. Hehe I'm surprised you missed out Rakuzen since you eat Japanese food a lot. Somehow their outlets are convenient for me so it's one of my usual haunts through the years.

Agree with you the plate size doesn't match the portion size. Normally Japanese restaurants pay a lot of attention to presentation.
